On Monday this stag was hounded to exhaustion by the Quantock Staghounds before being shot. Dogs, riders, and even quads hunted the animal, hounding him for three hours until he could move no more. Then the gunman approached and finished him off.
The QSH huntsman Martin Watts, and master Chris Gibbons are both in court later this month for a separate incident where a stag was hunted for over five hours and killed in March 2026. You can read more about that here 👉🏻 huntsabs.org.uk/quantock-hun…
Thanks to Mendip Hunt Sabs, North Dorset Hunt Sabs and Somerset Hunt Sabs for documenting Monday’s cruel hunt.

In the short run the school protests in France could die down, but the discontent is unlikely to dissipate. After nearly ten years under Emmanuel Macron, the country wants change economist.com/europe/2026/10…

This is the moment the Quantock Staghounds killed a stag yesterday after a 4 hour chase. The stag had gone far beyond his body's capabilities and could no longer move as a gunman walks right up to him and shoots. The suffering is inconceivable. 🎞️ by @SomersetSabs @mendiphuntsabs
