Week 4: Our coaches are prepared and know where our athletic facility AEDs are, because we send and discuss our Emergency Action Plans (EAP) yearly. When you’re at a venue, look around and take note of the nearest AED, it could save a life!! @ILAthTrainers #ATSafeSports
Week 3: Last night under the Friday Night Lights we mixed some “Blurple” Gatorade. Gatorade is packed with electrolytes needed for hydration. Sodium, potassium to name a couple. #ATSafeSports @ILAthTrainers
Last week was no cake walk, but we must take care of our student athletes. Don’t dwell on the negatives of modifications, create something positive! While practicing 7:30-9:15 isn’t ideal, we had some of our best practices yet! #Week2 #HeatSafety #ATSafeSports @ILAthTrainers
You never know where the day will take you as an Athletic Trainer.

Week 1 of #SafetyInSports is all about equipment fitting. The Riddell SpeedFlex has 5 air pockets that can be adjusted for each player. Also, the bottom chin straps pull like a zip-tie. Convenience is key, but safety is most important! @ILAthTrainers @JCHSAthletics

Reason # 865 why every high school needs an athletic trainer: to monitor environmental conditions and ensure the safety of all student-athletes.
Good luck this week, SSATs! May your ice machines fill quickly, and your cold tubs be shaded.
