In response to many tweets, I really do not care what would be the name of a new genuine socialist party and whether it will incorporate existing socialist outfits. It is clear that the Left in the party supported Jeremy and McDonald - and they can be a base for a new party.

The US support for UNRWA was not an act of generosity. The USA in 1950 was behind the establishment of the Agency, with a promise that its creation would lead to the implementation of resolution 194 (11 December 1948).
The resolution called for the unconditional return of the Palestinian refugees. UNRWA can only be dismantled if that resolution would be respected. The recent Trump decision is a break for the American commitment and responsibility and is made in the service of Israel.
There will be however no peace and no reconciliation until the Israeli Jews acknowledge the crime they committed in 1948, be accountable for it (mainly by allowing the right of return) and stop the on going Nakba today.
