I built my girlfriend a personal site for her birthday people love my own personal site so I decided to go with a similar style for hers, kept the storytelling + fun little animations

After trying claude models heavily for a month I do and at the same time don't get the craze they are incredibly good at oneshotting things "their way" - 0 thinking or input needed they are somewhat good at artsy back and forth type exploration they are dogshit whenever you're asking for something specific or want something to work properly (performance) they are also horrible at computer use, which is one of the main things I use AI for atm I'll be back on the OpenAI train, sprinkle in some on-demand Anthropic whenever I feel like it's a good fit (gonna be using API, no sub) + some open weight models to fill the gaps

For my own use case, I am confident that I nailed the hand-off flow between mobile and desktop agentic coding. 90% of the tasks are dispatched via the iPhone app; for the rare use cases where I want to go in manually, I can pick up the unit of work via the menu bar of the native Mac app. Connect via @superlogical Rex opens a new session connected to that VMs state, just where pi-durable left off. sprinkle in some of @parzerp banging UI and I was able to delete all other coding apps from my phone.

It's incredible how fast you can go from 1% to 99% when building software these days. The 1% that's left is taste + care Caring about that 1% makes it so it still takes roughly the same time as pre AI to ship "something" note: this "something" should be 1) more (quantity) 2) more ambitious (scope) 3) more polished (quality) not caring about that 1%, going all in on speed and letting the slop make it to prod will get you nowhere, maybe you'll get lucky in the short term but I'm sure that this is not the correct move weird times Time to think as big as you can & spend the time you're saving wisely: - put it into polish - consume the right things - meet people - go outside - get fit

These days, you should be building lots of tools for yourself. Build a tool to polish an animation, lots of knobs to fine tune. A tool to visualise performance issues. A tool to populate your UI with realistic data. Leverage AI to build a tool that builds *the* tool.

Replying to @parzerp
@parzerp and I might’ve very well created the best agentic coding experience on iOS during the last week. got promoted to the home row the first day we achieved a usable state.
