I'm in need of a new bridge camera. Don't suppose anyone has Canon SX70 tucked away in the cupboard they no longer use and looking to sell? Good working order. Thanks

Chancellor didn’t mention climate or nature once in her budget speech. Unforgivable. This is a critical moment. Our entire economy rests on the health of our environment & this was a chance to reset to deliver a liveable future. #Budget2024

The aftermath of huge sediment pollution events in the R. Glaven (N. Norfolk) in winter is a mass smothering of its gravels & banks making if look estuarine. @EnvAgency must ensure compensation from @VolkerFitzUK for major errors. Not sure river can recover. Heartbreaking.

Good work @MattStaniek !!!
⛔️ More breaking news ⛔️
In a first of its kind in the UK, we have just filed a statutory nuisance complaint against United Utilities to Westmorland and Furness Council.
Save Windermere, working with environmental barrister Nicholas Ostrowski, is demanding that Westmorland and Furness Council immediately investigate a statutory nuisance complaint made by the campaign.
We have now provided evidence to the council of sewage dumping in and around Ambleside. If the council finds that a nuisance has occurred arising from the sewage discharges by the water company, an abatement notice will be served requiring sewage discharges from Ambleside Wastewater Treatment Works and other locations around Ambleside to be limited or halted altogether. If United Utilities fail to do so, they will risk being prosecuted and fined until the nuisance ceases.
We have clearly demonstrated a nuisance has occurred, with evidence documenting 113 incidents of discharging into and around the river Rothay in Ambleside over a 13 month period.
You can now read the full story by heading to the link below.

With all of the scientific and data collection work we undertake, the aim is to create change and action - this is just one example of that. It’s taken us a year, working with our volunteer network, to collect this evidence and produce this work, and now we must pressure those that have the power to do something about this, to do what is right for our local community and for the nation; protect Windermere from sewage.
Head to our website to see how YOU can take action ahead of the general election, including signing our 10-point plan for a sewage free Windermere and joining us on 29th June for our March Against Sewage.

So true. I’m in Tallinn for the day and the verges and greenspaces are a mass of hoary plantain, vetches, cow parsley and vipers bugloss. No unnecessary and tidy-minded mowing.
Why do many of our European neighbours love their #wildflowers and #verges yet in Wales and UK we all too often decimate them? Wildflowers are left to grow by paths and verges in Switzerland. Full of bees and crickets. We need total mind shift in UK to back what we've lost.

Have you ever heard the weather described in shoe terms? 🤔
Neither had I until this mornin'. When I drew the curtains I exclaimed "It's Sunny - Yay!" 😃
Mrs A replied: "It goes straight from a boot day to a sandals day... There are no shoe days anymore."😕
I'm baffled. 🥴😁

What an EPIC journey for a swift. The flying dinosaur, who weighs no more than a creme egg. Ask your mates and neighbours to consider them before undertaking roof repairs.
Sheffielders get in touch. We have a list of swift friendly roofers.

A heartfelt explanation for the preservation of our precious environment and wildlife . If there was ever a good reason for the immediate cancellation of this doomed road this is it. @NorfolkCC take note.
‘ We have a vision of a Norfolk in which skylark song is everywhere in living hay meadows and is known to everyone. We have a vision of a Norfolk in which clouds of meadow browns and gatekeepers are commonplace. In which every child has looked into the jasper eyes of hares.
And we know this vision to be possible, with the undying support of Norfolk's people.
For almost 100 years you have understood our mission and our purpose and you have stood beside us as we have delivered it. Starting now with hay meadows, our vision for the recovery of Norfolk's habitats and wildlife is in our hands, together’

We will be in the high court in Cardiff on the 5th of June 2024 fighting to save Penrhos, as 27acres will be bulldozed, to make way for a 500 chalet holiday village the beautiful tranquility will be destroyed forever ! We are a grass roots campaign and have had to raise every penny from public donations & fundraisers like pub quizzes, auctions, abseils, yoga days selling calendars badges etc
etc , we still need to raise a lot more as a Judicial Review isn’t cheap nor is the legal representation required. But we think Penrhos is worth this fight! It’s the only woodland on ynys cybi with public access , we think the flora and fauna within is worth the fight too ! so if you agree please donate if you can or RT 📸Rachael Goodwin. I will add the ways to donate below

The Norwich Western Link will be passing about 100m from this sett. I can only imagine that the road casualties will be immense. These badgers will also become disconnected from populations in the neighbouring woodlands. #DefendWildlife Look here: norfolkwildlifetrust.org.uk/…
