Dear @Devon_Eriksen_ . I read your work. Is be very good. But I’m must give opposite opinion. You be correct Roman Empire fall because plebeian population no longer care for Roman Empire. So they stop fighting for it, stop care for it, stop be willing die for it. The most purest form of power is violence. If your country man not willing be violent for protect your country, then your country be collapse. I agree with you. But this fact NOT a parallel for modern society. Conquest and power now less need for human be violent. We still need human violence to keep culture the same, but human violence not as necessary for keep peace. Technology already begin take over this role. War be fight with more and more technology. Soon I’m believe all be AI fight wars. Maintaining control over domestic population needs less human violence because technology so well developed, it can soon predict what type people suitable for passive civil life and what type people not suitable. Then government can encourage the group they know they can control. This also why all government in west promote be gay. The gay very easy for control. AI prove the plebeian class not even needed for run a country. In game theory, if you someone who already possess power, the best move now is to remove the native plebeian class because they possess high odds of revolution. And replace them with immigrant class because new people in country less chance for revolution. The cost? You lose your culture and value. The fall of Rome will not be same as fall of America. Rome fall because not enough plebeian willing to die for empire. America fall because plebeian no longer needed for running America.
