Good morning @EdwardJDavey This colourful chap is One Of Yours. Who is vetting Your People?
🚨 LIB DEM COUNCILLOR CHARGED WITH THREATS TO KILL Tim Caswell, 66.. a Bedford Borough councillor and speaker of the council has been charged with: 🚨 Making threats to kill. 🚨 Possessing an offensive weapon. 🚨 Threatening to damage or destroy property. Armed police responded to the incident in Bedford. Caswell has pleaded not guilty to all three charges, but has been remanded in custody. Remind me not to get vetting advice from the Lib Dems. 🥴

🚨 BETRAYAL, LIES AND BROKEN MANIFESTO PROMISES FROM LABOUR! Labour stood in front of the British public and promised NO return to the EU single market or freedom of movement. Now we’re hearing they’re in talks with Brussels about doing exactly that! Where’s the mandate for this? Where’s the referendum? 🤷🏻‍♀️ You cannot win an election promising one thing, then turn around and start negotiating the complete opposite! It’s anti-democratic, it’s a betrayal of the voters, and it’s an absolute disgrace. The British people voted for Brexit. Labour promised to respect that. They have NO mandate to quietly reverse it behind our backs!

I see @TheEconomist, Editor @zannymb Minton Beddoes fiddled the graph showing overwhelmingly that Muslim migrants are vastly overrepresented in sexual assaults. They did it logarithmically instead of linear, making the disparity less. Ever wonder why we don't trust you?

Unbelievable. Britain is ALREADY holding talks with the EU about a return to free movement, The Times reports. Only 16 weeks after Burnham told Makerfield he wouldn’t “re-open” Brexit. There is absolutely no democratic mandate for this.

I’m English (With Mixed Heritage) All my life, I was raised English. Nothing more, nothing less. Over the last 20 years, I’ve discovered I’m a third-generation immigrant with mixed heritage. I’m also a Xennial, a veteran and a mother. But why does everything need a label? I’m English. That’s how I was raised, and that’s who I am. I grew up playing Kerby, building dens, drinking from the garden hose and coming home when the street lights came on. Weekends meant a packed lunch, a bottle of pop and the freedom to disappear with your mates. No mobile phones. If you wanted to see someone, you knocked on their door. I grew up in a deprived, working-class Labour city. My school wasn’t particularly diverse, but nobody cared about backgrounds. We were friends. The only racism I personally witnessed came from my own father, and even as a child, I knew it was wrong. Today, everything revolves around labels. Ethnicity, sexuality, pronouns, religion and nationality. Identity politics seems to matter more than character, and I’m sick of it. My country has changed beyond recognition. Mass immigration, political neglect and the erosion of community have left many working-class people feeling forgotten by the very politicians who claim to represent them. And who gets to define British culture? Westminster? The Home Office? Politicians disconnected from ordinary people’s lives? To me, it’s our shared history, traditions, humour, national pride and sense of community. It’s knowing your neighbours, respecting one another and feeling that you belong. England wasn’t perfect, but there was something worth preserving. I don’t want to turn back time. I want a country where people are judged by their character, not their identity, and where loving your heritage doesn’t require an apology. I was born English, raised English and served my country as an Englishwoman. My ancestry doesn’t change that. Strip away the labels, and I’m still that little English girl knocking on her friend’s door to ask if she’s coming out to play. That’s the England I miss 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Exactly this 👇 🩵
If no mandate @andyburnham was that confident, he would not be hiding behind a 2029 GE. No one voted for him. No one wanted him. He is a PM in name only. Riding the coattails of Keir Starmer’s electoral victory

I don’t want to post the video. You’ve all seen it. But I do want to write a love letter… Dear everyone in Britain, ( even you illegals) Just so you understand. The poppy is for the boys who never got to grow old. For the boys who were still somebody’s baby, brother, uncle or father. More than 600,000 of them. It doesn’t matter if you support war, hate your country, think you are a woman (even though you are a man). It doesn’t matter which God you pray to, or if you pray to none at all. It doesn’t matter who you vote for, what climate narrative you believe, or whether you believe Israel should exist or not! The poppy isn’t for you! It’s for those who came before. Those who fought for your right to be weird, annoying or even foreign. The poppy is how we say thank you. Thank you for giving us time, peace and choice. And attempting to ban our poppy by declaring it politically divisive isn’t a move towards freedom. It is an act of suppression. Understand that. The poppy is about love and loss. For you! So stick your rainbow flags and every other flag where the sun doesn’t shine and just wear your poppy. Those boys did not die as symbols. They died for you! Did you know that poppies grew across the battlefields where so many fell? As though even the land refused to forget the blood once given to defend it. So the poppy is for them. For those who came before us and paid in youth, in hope, in breath, in blood, so that we might have the freedom to be arseholes. So that we might even have the freedom to fight over the ridiculous, the inconsequential and the insane. Revere it, celebrate it and wear it. The very least you can do is that. Best The ordinary people.
