🇮🇷🇺🇸 A Nuclear Strike on Iran Could Spell Disaster for the US
Any US attempt to use nuclear weapons against Iran could unleash an unpredictable chain of events, with potentially catastrophic consequences for America itself.
Tehran is likely to go to extraordinary lengths to protect its remaining nuclear facilities. Should Iranian forces shoot down a B-2 Spirit carrying a nuclear bomb, the blow to US military prestige would be immense, undermining Washington’s claim to global military supremacy.
The consequences would not end there. A nuclear strike could trigger a major escalation across the Middle East and reignite a regional ‘fuel war’. On 1st Nov., Iran’s Defence Minister, Mehrdad Ahlaghi, warned Washington that any further attacks would be met with a ‘proportionate, resolute and effective response’.
President Trump has yet to make a final decision and is continuing consultations with an inner circle divided over the prospect of a nuclear strike.
The US has already deployed B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, capable of carrying thermonuclear weapons, in strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities. Any move towards nuclear escalation would take the confrontation into an altogether more dangerous phase.
