Claude Code cloud sessions start from the terminal: claude --cloud "your task".
They run on Anthropic's machines, so they keep going when your laptop is shut. I checked the docs: they count toward your plan's usage limits, with no separate VM charge.

The full write-up, with the command and two gotchas I hit: paulund.co.uk/notebook/ai/di…
One of my Claude Code sessions averaged about 511k tokens per call.
Auto-compaction kept cutting it back to about 85k, and it climbed straight back. That happened six times.
Compaction lowers the cost, but it doesn't fix it. Here's what I changed:

Quick reminder that the free limit reset from last month expires tomorrow at 9am PT! 🙏 If you haven't used yours yet, it's still waiting for you in Settings > Usage (or clau.de/reset)
With software development the main question we used to ask was, can we do this?
Now with AI we can do anything we want.
Now the question isn't can we do something it's should we do something or are we allowed to do something?
In the UK we get tax relief for investing in startup companies it's called SEIS / EIS investments.
But it's very time consuming to decide if a startup is a good investment.
Over the last few weeks I've spent time building an app that will
- Look on these investment platforms
- Find companies that are looking for investment
- Search for data about the company and directors
- Built an algorithm that would take the searched data and figure out a score on if this is a good investment
But the problems I have and why I could never release a product like this are I'm not FCA regulated, I can't create an app that looks like it's giving out investment advice, even if it is data lead.
I also these investment platforms have terms and condition against scraping their data for me own distribution.
This has now put a blocker on the project as I can't do this the way that I want. Technically it's possible but I shouldn't do it.
This is an example of making sure you ask should you do something before building and don't wait until you're a few weeks into development before answering that question.
The US has 8,100 tonnes of gold. But it hasn't been audited since the 50s so do they actually have that much?

I built my first Claude Code mod.
I use the CLI, but missed the desktop app's easy screenshot viewing. /image opens the latest in a zoomable herdr split.
The viewer needs a terminal like Ghostty. If you use Ghostty, it might be useful :)

OpenCode 2.0 is out.
I had a look through the migration guide. Most existing config should carry over, but plugins need porting and the server API has changed.

We keep improving performance across Claude, and you may have noticed it starts responding sooner!
Claude Code now gzips the conversation it sends on every turn, so it reaches the model faster. Cloud sessions also start up as soon as you start typing.
And what does this company do when that one dev leaves?
AI isn't just about a single developer working faster and more consistent, it also helps the entire team.
If a senior dev can brain dump their knowledge and workflows into skills it helps everyone at the entire company.
I’ve added a US dollar purchasing-power calculator to Bullion API.
Choose an amount and two months to see its CPI-adjusted equivalent. It uses stored US CPI data and doesn’t estimate missing months.
Try it: bullionapi.dev/tools/us-doll…
