What do you want people to know about you, one you’ve never been able able to share because it might sound self-serving?? Here’s mine: I broke the Jeffery Dahmer story in Chicago as a TV assignment editor at #nbcchicago. I’ve never told anyone. I want to hear your story.

With everything, this is my philosophy. You can it or not to your own life. I’ll figure it out. I’ve never not been successful because I have failed so many times, willingly.

Reminder that Dolly Parton didn't leave this world as some fragile lady, she left like a hot rockstar in heels & leather.

Working with Dolly on β€œHome Sweet Home” was one of the true highlights of our career. We can still hear her voice saying, β€œWell, how about that, Dolly and MΓΆtley at #1?” Thank you for the music, the laughter, the kindness and the inspiration, Dolly. Our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and fans around the world. With love and respect, MΓΆtley CrΓΌe

It’s hard to imagine many people having a bigger impact than Dolly Parton. Born in a one-room cabin, she earned 11 Grammys and an Emmy, built a business empire, helped millions of kids learn to read, and β€” as if that wasn’t enough β€” helped accelerateΒ the research that led to the Moderna COVID vaccine. What a life. Michelle and I are thinking of Dolly’s family and her many, many fans.

I spent a season in Indonesia when I was in my 20’s. Being from Chicago I kept hearing the same responses to my origin storyβ€”β€œAl Capone and Michael Jordan. β€œ They understood us better than we did.

SAD NEWS: Legendary comedian Tom Dreesen has passed away. News of the Harvey, Illinois native’s passing was posted on his Facebook page this morning: β€œMy sister and I regret to inform you that our father passed away at 5:50 this morning. He wanted you all to know how much joy you brought him through the years. He said to tell you that he loved you all. May he rest in peace.” Dreesen famously toured as Frank Sinatra’s opening act for many years. He was a diehard fan of Chicago sports and frequently made appearances at events. And he was also a U.S. Navy veteran on the board of actor @GarySinise’s foundation. Gary paid tribute to Tom this morning: β€œHe served as a Gary Sinise Foundation ambassador for the past 14 years and was always there when I asked for his support. He loved our country and the men and women who serve and he loved supporting them through our foundation. Tom was hilarious, always could make us laugh, and such a good friend. I will miss him terribly. What a great long career he had in show business.β€œ Dreesen was a frequent guest on many of our programs here at WGN. He was a delight to speak with when he came into the studio. He will be missed. Tom Dreesen was 86 years old. RIP.
