Hey @united I’m pretty sure that every passenger would rather sit on a warm plane for few minutes and make our connections than sit here waiting for the plane to cool

A group of non-white American kids cheering on a football team in their college colors and stetsons is more American than those who look at the picture and hate what they see.

'Everybody believes in the [normal approximation], the experimenters because they think it is a mathematical theorem, the mathematicians because they believe it is an experimental fact.' -- G. Lippmann
Went to sleep last night and woke up in 2007. It’s awesome when the banks give leverage indiscriminately - until it isn’t.
Because Jay Powell and the Fed failed to stop the problem they created with Inflation, I will do it by unleashing American Energy production, slashing Regulation, rebalancing International Trade, and reigniting American Manufacturing, but I will do much more than stopping Inflation, I will make our Country financially, and otherwise, powerful again! The Fed has done a terrible job on Bank Regulation. Treasury is going to lead the effort to cut unnecessary Regulation, and will unleash lending for all American people and businesses. If the Fed had spent less time on DEI, gender ideology, “green” energy, and fake climate change, Inflation would never have been a problem. Instead, we suffered from the worst Inflation in the History of our Country!

Let me think about this step by step:
1. First, we need to consider the initial state: a medium-trust society where institutional corruption becomes openly visible, particularly at the highest levels. This visibility is key - it's not just that corruption exists, but that it's brazenly public.
2. In game theory terms, each citizen now faces recurring choices about whether to:
- Maintain pro-social cooperative behaviors
- Defect toward more self-interested behaviors
- Actively exploit systems like those in power
3. The payoff matrix is affected by:
- Reduced costs of unethical behavior (as enforcement/reputation penalties decrease)
- Increased opportunity costs of ethical behavior (as others exploit systems)
- Psychological costs of maintaining cooperative norms while seeing elites break them
- Network effects as trust deteriorates
4. The likely Nash equilibrium would trend toward a "cascading defection" where:
- Initial defections by political leaders reduce the cost of unethical behavior
- This encourages more actors to defect as the relative costs of cooperation increase
- Trust continues eroding as more people defect
- Eventually reaching a new equilibrium with much lower baseline trust and cooperation
5. However, this may not be a complete breakdown. Local trust networks often persist even in low-trust societies, creating a dual-level equilibrium:
- Low trust/high defection at institutional/stranger levels
- Maintained cooperation in smaller trusted networks (family, close associates)
This suggests the Nash equilibrium would be a fragmented trust landscape - high cooperation within small trusted groups but low cooperation and high defection rates in broader society, especially regarding public institutions.
What's particularly interesting here is how this new equilibrium can be quite stable - once established, it's difficult to shift back to a high-trust equilibrium without massive coordination.
