As someone working in tech, I cannot unsee how harmful mobile phones and apps are for kids. Many apps and games use dark patterns that gambling apps utilize to create addiction - maddening that they can and do.
No wonder more people working in tech try to keep kids off of it all

We've been experimenting with stacked diffs and I don't think I like them 😬 Feel like they sort of give you permission to make big broad hard-to-review changes by tricking you into thinking they are small because you've chained a bunch of dependent PRs.

Introducing sidebar.tsx—25 components to help you build all kinds of sidebars.
I don't like building sidebars. So I built 30+ of them. All types. Then simplified the core into sidebar.tsx—a strong foundation to build on top of.
It works with Next.js, Remix, Vite & Laravel.

The new .NET AI tooling Microsoft dropped for @ollama is 🔥 The API is fantastic so far and so much easier to work with than other samples I've tried.

In perhaps the most Try Hard way possible: we shipped dark and light mode *videos* for the HighPerformanceSQLite.com course.
With a little thought and planning up front by @steve_tenuto, it ended up being relatively easy!
Lemme walk you through it

Glad to see this go live today! The library is something I and a few smart people have been working on in recent months.

I'm letting them run a victory lap because UK's per capita CO2 emissions are now lower than they were in 1854 and they just turned off their last coal fired power plant this week after being the location of the first one ever built.

More design systems should use utilities over style components.
🚫
<Box as="section" bg="red-400">
<Text font="body-xl">
<HeadlessButton as={Box} bg="blue-400" />
✅
<section className="bg-red-400">
<span className="font-body-xl">
<HeadlessButton className="bg-blue-400" />
This might look slightly longer, but gives you flexibility to apply styles to any component or element, with no need for polymorphism (which might not even be supported on every component).
You can also create utility functions that apply multiple properties, and give you autocomplete, type checking, and design system constraints:
<ul className={stack({density: 'spacious'})}>
Separating reusable styles and reusable behavior (e.g. headless components) makes it super flexible to apply the design system anywhere you need to. This makes it extensible to new use cases with much less complexity.

Can't stress how much React is a core skill for so many jobs right now. It's companies built on Not React that have to be patient as react Devs upskill into their codebase. Everyone else just wants React. Surest way to win or lose a job to another: can you do it now Vs tomorrow?
