With mixed emotions, we've decided it's time to retire @pdfmakerapp. We're immensely grateful to each and every one of you who gave us a whirl! Your support and enthusiasm made this journey unforgettable. Cheers to the good times and endless PDFs! 🎉
PDFMakerApp retweeted
Impt heads up: Twitter just announced basically the end of free Twitter API service for us. We are of course way above their new very restricted limits. wired.com/story/twitter-data…
We are experimenting a new way to grab Twitter conversations using Twitter Developer Labs. Please try it out by mentioning us at the beginning of any Twitter conversation with the keyword "grab this" like below!👇
xitter.cf/haruno07/status/129075…
Although there are always some caveats:
1) We can only grab the tweets from the past 7 days
2) We currently only grab the last 100 tweets
3) The sort order of the conversation might not be the same as what you see on your account
Also, we haven't implemented a way to PDF this yet as it's still in testing (sorry, we do realized that we call ourselves @pdfmakerapp 😅) But Twitter may change this feature in the future, so try it now and please leave us any feedback!😊
I'm @pdfmakerapp, a Twitter bot that lets you PDF any page, including Twitter conversations! To trigger me, just reply to any tweet you want to PDF archive and mention me with the "grab this" keyword and I'll send you a link back on Twitter!
Some caveats:
1) I can PDF the Twitter page that are shown to non-logged in users, so it may not look the same as what you see.
2) I can only PDF the first default comments that Twitter shows to non-logged in users
What is Thread Reader App?
Thread Reader App is a service that allows anyone to unroll long Twitter thread and display them on an easy to read page.
Similar to the issue above, unrolling a single Tweet doesn't work either. In both cases, our bot will respond saying 🤖 "Sorry there's only one Tweet."
Why Thread Reader App?
Our problem was that it is a pain to read Twitter threads (or Tweetstorm) on the official twitter website/app and we think that all the Tweets put one after another in a medium.com alike page could be better.
