Replying to @Boost_Libraries
Looking at this code example, I noticed that we were missing support for directly printing a `uuid`, so I added it. godbolt.org/z/95xPjsEEh It will be in the next Boost release.

I think I said this years ago. The Greeks had no frame of reference for siege warfare. Not in the Bronze Age, not by Homer's time, and not even by the time of the Peloponnesian War. The "horse" is the mythological reinterpretation of the Mesopotamian-style siege engine.
"ten years on this fucking beach" is such a great way to deflate the mythology and majesty of the trojan war in a single line. they really were just stumped by the concept of walls

"If I were to tell a story about Boost, I'd start with the people." Today we're sharing the official teaser for the Boost documentary. A film about the people, the politics, and the decades of work behind possibly the most important open source library you've never heard of 🎥👇

What if your function could tell the compiler: "don't call me with a negative number"? And what if the compiler could actually enforce that at debug time, at test time, or even in production? C++26 just made that part of the language 🧵👇

I tried to stop std::hive. When it became clear I couldn't, I tried to keep them for baking in a design that forced a particular implementation. std::hive doesn't belong in the C++ standard library.

Boost 1.91 highlights: 🔢 NEW: Boost.Decimal. Full IEEE 754 decimal floating point. Financial, scientific, embedded. No more binary FP rounding surprises ⚡ Boost.UUID. SIMD accelerated from_chars (13x) and to_chars (5.5x). Constexpr accessors on C++14+ 🔴 Boost.Redis. Sentinel support baked in. New generic_flat_response: contiguous memory, zero steady state allocations. Auto subscription restore on reconnect 🪞 Boost.PFR. Experimental C++26 reflection backend. Define BOOST_PFR_USE_CPP26_REFLECTION to opt in 🧠 Boost.Optional. Union based storage enables gradual constexpr. Plus o = {} and o.value_or({}) now just work. Getting closer to std::optional parity ⚙️ Boost.MultiIndex. MPL → Mp11 migration (breaking). Variadic composite_key. Faster compiles, fewer deps. 🔁 Boost.MSM. Flat_fold dispatch + up to 25% faster compile times vs 1.90. Merged event pool with SBO 🛡️ Boost.System. result<>::operator* now throws on empty instead of UB. Old behavior lives in unsafe_value()

Boost 1.91 just dropped. 13x faster UUID parsing. Zero-allocation Redis responses. C++26 reflection in Boost.PFR. A brand-new IEEE 754 decimal library. This might be the most stacked release in years. Here's what you need to know 🧵👇

🚀 NEWS UPDATE: @Google Quantum AI's Tesseract decoder uses Boost.DynamicBitset and Boost.ContainerHash to accelerate quantum error correction, achieving up to 5× speedup on the most demanding configurations. By replacing custom hashing with boost::hash_value and leveraging hardware-accelerated bitwise ops, the team eliminated a key decoding bottleneck across Surface Codes, Color Codes, Bivariate Bicycle Codes & more. The result? Consistent ~2× speedups across code families, with peak gains over 5× – making fault-tolerant quantum computing more practical. Great example of how Boost libraries power cutting-edge research. 🔗 #cpp #OpenSource
