I have decided to write a book because I feel compelled to warn others. I have survived too much not to.
Anyone else in love with the idea of love? In lust over the idea of marriage? Sucker for a wedding? A hopeless romantic? Yet, in reality, have no use for any of it bcs it is not worth all the effort? The complications of being a cynic in ♥️ with ♥️. 😂
Kids with divorced parents who are "the best of friends" wonder why they couldn't just have stayed married and not complicated their lives.
Adults could have protected you. Adults could have treated you better. Adults could have believed you. Adults could have shown you love. You were a child. They chose not to. You deserved better. Far better. And, they do not deserve you.
It is never fair to the victim to have to go no contact with a parent. It is forced upon them. No one would choose to have to take this step. They are not cruel or unforgiving. They are surviving and wish if could've been different. But, they are strong enough to know it won't be
You cannot love someone into treating you well. In the process, you are not loving yourself and teaching them to treat you worse.
Narcissistic abusive relationships begin with them thinking the worst about you while you are thinking the best about them. Recipe for disaster.
Every word of this is truth. 👇🏻
Women esp. are prone to saying "sorry" a lot. We may do it to be nice or polite. But, in this broken world, it often translates into "target" for abusers. Apologize when you do wrong only. Don't throw around the word "sorry".
Overly optimistic people lack intelligence.
That sounds mean. Don't mean it that way. But, I think it applies.
Optimism gets only good talk. And, it is good. But, then there is being super, saccharine, overly optimistic. That's just not seeing things for what they are.

Marriage counselling or relationship counselling with an abuser is an extremely dangerous dynamic for a victim. Not only have they got a professional being ‘neutral’ in the abuse, but the perp is given the opportunity to gaslight whilst continuing the abuse and violence at home.
There are amazing relationships that some seem to be blessed with, but the really awful ones scar us in a way where we remember too clearly what it's like to be entrapped and it leads us to...
Relationship? Hard pass.
If one gives blanket textbook advice to victims such as "keep logs of abuse incidents" and think that will give the victim victory, I would ? if that person has the experience to be giving that counsel bcs it is disconnected from reality.
We often do not think about the practical realities of sharing one's life w a significant other. Seems like the longer you live alone, the less willing you are to stop doing so.
