I realised that we didn't really talk much about our custom index in Raycast that replaces Spotlight. It was already 20× faster than Spotlight in our benchmarks.
After recent hype around fsearch from @itsnoahd, we pushed it even further, so it's 6x faster than before in 2.8.0.
Another week, another round of improvements:

🧠 Startup: about 20% less memory

for the new Auto model in @raycast I came up with a spider/radar chart to allow users to compare the 3 preferences we offer: lightweight, balanced, and flagship. it's a tradeoff between speed, cost, and intelligence. it felt natural and fun to present the capabilities this way. wdyt?

I fixed something that was really bothering me in @raycast where deleting a hotkey from Root Search looked flickery, quickly flashing a few states in a row whilst the action panel closed.
Much more solid now! Will be out in this week's release.

We changed how @raycast AI is priced and I want to explain why.
AI Chat can now work through whole tasks, not just quick answers. That costs a lot more and we can't subsidize it like the big labs do. So we moved from rate limits to credits. Prices stay the same and existing subscribers get a bonus month.
