I have thought about this woman a good deal after hearing that terrible Air Traffic Control audio from the crashed Learjet in Florida. Her name is Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras. She was only 20 years old but she displayed incredible bravery & focus to continue to communicate with Air Traffic Control in what must have been the most horrifying experience imaginable My heart goes out to her family and loved ones & everyone who died on that plane Shame on those who have used social media to in any way blame this young woman for what happened on that flight, in view of prejudices they might have based on her sex, age & ethnicity

The legendary Bristol Cars showroom was located at 368-370 Kensington High Street, (intersection with Holland Road) serving as the exclusive, highly enigmatic sales hub for one of Britain’s most eccentric luxury automakers for over seven decades. Following years of financial decline, the original company went into final liquidation in 2020, and the historic retail site has since been taken over by Indian Motorcycles. The company was spearheaded by ex-racing driver Tony Crook, who personally vetted clientele. He was famous for refusing service to people he felt didn't match the "discreet" ethos of the brand, famously turning away rock star Brian May due to his long hair. The cars themselves paired hand-built British craftsmanship with massive American V8 engines. The storefront served a highly private, wealthy elite who valued high-speed touring and complete social anonymity over flashier alternatives like Aston Martin or Bentley.

...a frightened yet loyal dog. Yesterday, the russian military killed her owner. It was a woman named Liuba, who had always fed animals in her town, and all the locals knew her. Around 10:00 a.m., russian forces dropped two FAB-250 glide bombs with UMPK kits on residential areas of Sloviansk. As a result of the attack, the 68-year-old woman was killed, and her dog sat for a long time near the spot where Liuba died. Six people were injured that day. Local residents are recovering from the trauma and putting their homes back in order.

Dear Americans, today is Election Day. Before you cast your vote, remember Izium, Ukraine. 414 civilians. Five children. Tortured. Executed. Buried in a forest. Your president, Mr. Trump, called russia’s conduct “frankly normal.” Remember that.

Today was Nature Studies with my granddaughter, Arrietty. We went foraging in the garden and local woods for fallen leaves, hips, haws, nuts & berries... and Arrietty created this beautiful Nature Mandala on the kitchen table with our finds!

Ripon is home to a horn blowing tradition that has taken place nightly at the city's obelisk without interruption for over 1,000 years, dating back to 886 AD. King Alfred the Great granted Ripon a charter that year, in the form of a ceremonial horn, and advised locals to appoint a "Wakeman" to patrol the city and protect it from Viking raids. Every night at 9pm since, a hornblower has sounded the horn at all four corners of the market obelisk to "set the watch" even through two world wars, and even from hornblowers' own back gardens during lockdown. One of the oldest unbroken civic traditions anywhere in the world, still happening tonight, exactly as it has for over 1,100 years 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 – at Ripon, England

Oct 30th 2025, my Mum visited us in Ireland from Edinburgh for my Birthday (tomorrow). She always made the most extraordinary effort, we laughed, cried, hugged, dined out, walked, drank wine & put the world to rights, little did I know it would be the last time I would ever see her on this planet. I’ll forever love her & our memories. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💔🇮🇪
