This looks boring.
That’s why it works.
A banknote identifier app.
20k downloads.
$50k/month.
Collectors don’t want innovation.
They want tools that respect their obsession.
You start noticing these micro-markets once you study enough competitors (I usually do it on peterai.app).

I picked 10 competitors for my new app idea and exported their app reviews using @peterai_app.
Then I fed Codex ~3.5k reviews and got curated summaries for each competitor - with 40%+ of the context window still free - providing plenty of room for follow-up questions.
I'd guess, Claude Code would already be out of context (and probably hitting the 5-hour usage limit 😅).
Codex is so much better at analyzing large amounts of data. 📊

I’ve decided to take my indie app development a bit more seriously, so I’ve purchased yearly subs for @TryAstroAppand @peterai_app 🚀
My goal: build a small app portfolio alongside my full-time job that, within 2 years, can cover my mortgage - roughly $2k MRR gross.
I’ll share my learnings along the way.💡

Your three essential apps for analyzing your competitors
PeterAI → to discover their weak points through reviews
- ScreenDesign → to analyze their onboarding and paywall
- TryAstroApp → to build a strong ASO strategy and spy on their keywords
