To better understand Bob Uecker’s significance to Brewers baseball, he called both Hank Aaron’s last MLB home run and Jackson Churio’s first.

Have to go back and watch, but it looks like Matthew Schaefer became the first to play all 5 mins of overtime in NYI's 4-3 shootout win in Nashville.
Islanders gave him a breather with a timeout before powerplay at 2:17 of OT, but he was out there for all of it.
Unbelievable
According to @StatsPerform the 5:00 OT shift by Matthew Schaefer tonight was the first time a player played all 5 minutes of OT in post lockout era. @WillyD1025
well done by Joe Davis!

A little footnote about Game 3. Pat Murphy made sure every Brewers position player got into the game, either as a pinch hitter or a defensive replacement. Regardless of what happens, they'll all be able to say the played in a World Series. One little thing. Big culture payoff.
Have A Great Call!!!

Ron Darling says he'll be back calling Mets games next year on SNY podcast: "As long as Gary, Keith and SNY still wants me, I'll be here for as long as they do."

This is the world we live in. Adapt or die. Sounds like one of these broadcasters is adapting while the other is dying.

Listen to Brewers radio announcer Josh Maurer call the absolute mauling of Cam Booser by the Brewers offense in the top of the 5th inning
Personally not familiar with #1, but the rest are all excellent candidates!
Potential candidates to be the next #WhiteSox play-by-play announcer:
1) Connor McKnight = White Sox CHSN
2) Adam Amin = Bulls CHSN & Fox
3) Connor Onion = Fox & Big Ten Network
4) Wayne Randazzo = LA Angels TV & Apple TV
5) Mike Monaco = ESPN, NESN, & WEEI
What are your thoughts?
For an organization that had prided itself for years with events like Old-Timers Day, etc, (which is a great event even though I’m not a Yankee fan), to see this is simply embarrassing.
Between that and Derek Jeter’s obvious indifference towards the current regime (that might be the most optimistic view-it could be worse).
I think they see that what Hal/Cashman have done to the “Yankee Mystique”, which is to destroy it for the almighty $ as opposed to winning at all costs is a big part of their ambivalence.
Agreed - it’s a horrible look.
George is spinning in his grave. BTW-he burned many of his own bridges along the way, but he always wanted to win.
Firmly in #2
Awesome news!!! Congrats Emmanuel!!!

nypost.com/2026/10/27/sports… Yankees’ sweep at the hands of the small-market Rays looks even worse today with Rays being dismantled by even smaller-market Brewers
