Neoplatonic Virtue: Does Foreknowledge Destroy Freedom? If the gods know what we will do, must we do it? Proclus ends On Providence with Iamblichus' answer: knowledge follows the nature of the knower, not the known. The gods know our open future without closing it.

Sun square Pluto today. The Sun is consciousness; Pluto in Aquarius has been associated with AI: Aquarius with technology, Pluto with fears and deep, subterranean developments of power. A good day to revisit this video:

1. The tablet is a screen for everything, not just an occasional presentation 2. It reduces human contact, which is essential for teaching and for friendship 3. It reduces the use of the body and so narrows the capacity for memory 1/x

Why? Would you favor prohibition on all visual aids: overhead projector, slide show, film strip, movie, televised program? How do you feel about personal slate and chalk usage? Is this extension of Socratic problem w/ visualized symbolic thought or corollary to music problem?

Lua cheia em Touro esta madrugada: a Lua cheia exaltada! Duplamente grande. Ela leva à culminação o que começou na Lua nova de 10 de outubro. E um lembrete: um mês é, em teoria, um ciclo da Lua. Nossos meses nunca acompanham a Lua. O calendário estranho é o nosso.

It is because in you the concept has not yet been brought to self-knowing that you think knowing is domination, reduction, subjection, the denial of otherness and the non-rational. You must change your life!

Venus returns to Libra today. Huzzah! Great rejoicing! From exile in Scorpio back to her own home. Every homecoming echoes Odysseus's. For Homer's Neoplatonist readers, the return to Ithaca is the rational soul's path back to reality.

Venus cazimi today: retrograde Venus, in Scorpio, in the heart of the Sun. A day to think about the ambivalence of beauty. For Proclus, perceptible beauty is double: the beauty of the cosmos lifts us toward the eternal; the beauty of Helen binds us to the here and now.
Quote card in blue and gold: 'Why have the gods so engineered the world… Why must beauty be dangerous?' — Antonio Vargas, The Beautiful World and the Beautiful Helen.
