It's extraordinarily disheartening that someone so interested (and indeed powerful) in urban transportation is apparently blissfully unaware of the Fundamental Law of Road Congestion. More roads simply means more traffic unless you price road congestion.
Replying to @cFidd
No, I said we should build more tunnels. Put trains in them or cars or whatever, but every large city on Earth is plagued by traffic & it’s getting worse. Multi-level tunnels might solve this, so worth trying. If you have a better suggestion, please tell us what it is.
Red Bull Top 8! Congrats to @anna_dopico for your multi-award winning book ToMakeRidersFaster.com. Great Christmas present!

Congestion cost each & every LosAngelino $2,828 last year [INRIX study]. Commuting alone, in 20 ft long, 4400 lb vehicles doesn't work.

Everyone loves a graph, right? Top 4 progression in the IP at Worlds and major events (Olympics, Commonwealths, conti champs, major world cups etc). @jjzarchibald and Ashton Lambie's data thrown in there to see their progression. Arms race since ~2013? And it's only accelerating!
The average NA commuter vehicle carries 1.1 people and weighs 4400 lbs. This narrow track vehicle carries 2 and weighs 550lbs.
Lightweight narrow-track vehicles makes a lot of sense in the city (although probably not on the sidewalk).
