Descriptions are boring, I try not to be. Pretends to tweet about books and high-brow stuff, ends up tweeting about bugs and spiders #sorrynotsorry

Had a @parkermillsap3 song come up on my spotify playlist and was reminded of that time I randomly met him pulling weeds at Radnor Lake State Park.
He was a very cool guy and I somehow missed that he released a new album this year.

Bobtail and bottletail squids (Suborder Sepiolina) are a group of small cephalopods. They aren't true squids, but we still commonly call them squids, so I think they are fair game for #SQUIDtember.
Plus, look how cute they are! How could I go a month without talking about them!
ALT An Atlantic Bobtail Squid (Sepiola atlantica) sitting in the sand. Its skins is a bit translucent, with yellow, brown and dark brown chromatophores. It has some iridescent grean areas near its eyes and mantle.
ALT A Southern Bottletail (Sepiadarium austrinum) sitting in the sand. It is orange and has some grains of sand on its mantle.
ALT A juvenile Southern Bobtail squid (Euprymna tasmanica) sitting on yellow green seaweed. It is a brownish green.
ALT A Striped Pyjama Bottletail (Sepioloidea lineolata) sitting on the sand. It is white with black to dark brown stripes and it has some sand on its head, right above its eyes.
Living now in Ireland, every time the self checkout asks "do you wish to continue" I think of @RedValleyPod. Every single time.
So I'm elated that new episodes will be coming out soon.
I met @ClaireNorth42 in Nottingham this past week and she was such a delight! I cannot wait to finish Ithaca and tackle House of Odysseus. Next time I'll need to bring my hardcover editions of Matthew Swift for her too.
I finally have had a chance to start Ithaca by @ClaireNorth42 (thanks Master's thesis I should really be focusing on) and two things:
1) I already love it
2)I missed all the book signings held earlier in the year so now I'm holding my breath hoping there's another soon
I had a dream last night that I was hanging out with @Hozier and helping him move to a new place. Afterwards, we just chilled out for a bit and had a cup of tea. Honestly it was so nice and I was sad when I woke up to remember we're not casual buddies.
Being in Ireland now, it should be made known that I am, of course, down for a casual hang and moving assistance if so needed.

“You’re certainly somebody that people can love.”
I am certain that @JonathanAStroud didn't cowrite Lockwood & Co with Charlie Fletcher, but watching the show my brain is delightedly drawing all kinds of connections between these series.
I love having extremely scattered and selective knowledge about basketball (mostly gathered from @HORSE_hoops). But it's so weird to be wandering Dublin and seeing random people sporting merchandise for American teams.

There’s nothing quite like watching the exhilarating display of nature in motion. Snow leopards are some of the most agile predators on the planet, and they clearly display their behavioral feats and prowess here in this astounding video, defying death itself. #ScienceTwitter – at Berkeley, CA
And this is how we bring down prey on the steep mountains... Only to stroll down and pick up the groceries.

Truth about salads:
- salads are great, actually, and delicious
- salads can be interesting, complex, textured
- salads are not usually low calorie (who cares)
- some of the best salads do not use lettuce
- if you’re southern, literally anything can be a salad
