Mr RT Davies is, ironically, lying about @Plaid_Cymru lying. Plaid said there wouldn’t be an independence referendum in this term. They’re standing by that. It’s wrong, though, to say the party ‘assured’ they wouldn’t ‘push’ for independence. It is literally in the manifesto:
I warned during the election Plaid would use their time in power to push Welsh independence. Rhun ap Iorwerth assured us they wouldn’t. Plaid lied.

This poll suggests Plaid Cymru could almost quadruple our seats in Westminster, with Labour almost wiped out in Wales. There’s still a long way to go, but the message is clear - Plaid Cymru’s momentum is continuing as more people look to us as the pro-Wales, anti-Reform vote.
YouGov's September 2026 MRP projects that Labour would be the largest party in a hung parliament, were an election held tomorrow Labour: 241 (-170 from 2024) Conservatives: 130 (+9) Reform UK: 123 (+118) Lib Dems: 71 (-1) SNP: 40 (+31) Plaid Cymru: 15 (+11) Greens: 9 (+5) Others: 3 (-3)

Breaking: Reform UK leader in Wales Dan Thomas steps down with immediate effect after police report. Mr Thomas says he was reported to police over the weekend and released without charge. “I stress that I have done nothing wrong, but I do not want the coming headlines to be a distraction from the fantastic work our Senedd team is doing in holding this government to account.”

Plaid Cymru said they would not have a referendum this term, and they are standing by that. What they did say is they’d open the conversations on Independence, and that’s what they’ve done. Thank you, Jo, for taking part in those conversations!
The minority Plaid Government doesn't care about the priorities of the people of Wales, like the cost of living and decent jobs. Today’s “summit” shows they can never be trusted. All they’ve ever been interested in, is pursuing independence at all cost. End of.

Today First Ministers Michelle O’Neill, John Swinney and Rhun ap Iorwerth met to discuss self-determination cross the Celtic nations. We need to see independence criteria set out by all Secretaries of State! Hunanbenderfyniad nawr ! Fèin-ùghdarras a-nis ! Féinchinneadh anois !

Unacceptable. We must get a grip on this for the sake of our nation’s young people and future. Anghredadwy. Mae rhaid datrys hyn yn gloi er lles dyfodol ein cenedl, a’n pobl ifanc.

This stood out in my analysis of the underlying data. Poverty is often cited as the reason for Wales' poor performance, but what about this: England’s most disadvantaged quarter scored 473 in reading, against Wales’s overall average of 459.

Wales has had another troubling set of school results. My analysis finds England’s most disadvantaged quarter scored higher in reading than the Welsh average. The gap extends across social backgrounds. Here’s why that matters...and the questions facing ministers.

This is really REALLY worth the watch. Fully off the dome with no notes, calls Netanyahu a war criminal and has the greatest accent we’ve heard in generations. Limbs

At least Kiera will be paying her employee to actually do their job helping constituents instead of spending all of their time tweeting from an anonymous X account all day every day
Plaid Cymru Senedd member Kiera Marshall is hiring. It’s a £43,000 job. Here’s the advert …

Hi Dan, just a quick one, the graphic shows that Plaid Cymru would actually have a *higher* vote share than Reform.

Mae hyn yn erchyll tu hwnt. Dymunwn @natasghar a’i theulu a tîm yn dda. Heddiw, mae’n debyg bod ymosodiadau ar wleidyddion ar ddraws y sbectrwm ideolegol -yn enwedig tuag at fenywod - yn arferol. Nid yw hyn yn iawn neu’n dderbyniol a mae’n beryglus i’n bobl a democratiaeth.

This is truly horrible. We wish Natasha Ashghar MS, her family and her team well. The targeting of politicians in Wales and the UK (especially women in politics), seems too commonplace nowadays. Attacking anyone or their homes like this is dangerous for our democracy and people.
