The recirculation "feature" is very useful when there is a 20-year-old diesel vehicle in front (which often happens in #Glos). ☠️🚗😧
The recirculation "feature" in cars is extremely dangerous. It increases risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission immensely in rideshares. The CO2 level itself also promotes drowsiness and cognitive dysfunction, risk factors for accidents. If you have a CO2 monitor, use it while driving with recirc on for 15 mins. You will not be able to unsee the result, and I doubt you will ever do it again.
The air is clean in #Glos, thanks to #StormAusten or #StormBoelo or something. ☠️👍

"If you have a fireplace, lighting a fire to warm the room you're in can be cheaper than turning on the central heating for your whole house. Elin Davis from South Wales says her log burner is more economical than turning her heating on...".

Important point from this paper (measuring 🇩🇪 suburban pollution in winter 2024-5): "There [was] no direct correlation between the PM2.5 and UFP (ultrafine particle) measurements"! ☠️

Our China air pollution monthly. Sharp drop in oil consumption clearly visible in urban NO2 pollution, which is much more local than PM2.5. Overall, meeting China's new air quality standards will require systematic nationwide action, including reductions in fossil fuel use.
