Russia succeeded USSR as NPT nuclear state, but they were not Russian property. B) Budapest Memorandum gave political assurances of sovereignty/non-force (not military guarantees or NATO limits). US met them via consultations, aid, sanctions. Russia violated first via 2014 Crimea annexation and 2022 invasion.

According to developer Adura and UK government figures, Jackdaw will create 27 new direct full-time jobs and safeguard 273 existing jobs at the Shearwater host platform that would otherwise be lost. The platform itself is not permanently manned. Over its lifetime it is estimated to support an average of nearly 500 jobs a year when including direct, indirect and induced employment, plus additional supply-chain work during development.
