A warrant for arrest must be served. Why would we keep paying someone while they are hiding from the police??! It is imminently sensible to withhold government payments until the warrant is executed.
Labor is trying to sneak through laws to give police and ministers power to cancel Centrelink payments for people who have a warrant against them. Punishing people before they stand trial is fundamentally wrong. We cannot let Labor get away with this. lidiathorpe.com/mr_reject_po…

DEI advice from “high performing organisations” (tic) like NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure and Australia Post. The expert respondents don’t have investors, only stakeholders. Hopefully nobody takes this advice (seriously, shared for awareness only). hrmonline.com.au/culture-lea…

Digging into this, Grok says 10% - 15% of cars in NSW had personalised plates prior to introducing the annual fee in 2003. Today the number is closer to 7% - a 30% - 50% reduction. Grok says that Australian states without an annual fee are generally on 10%+ of registered vehicles, in states with an annual fee it's 7% or below. There are exceptions, possibly due to massive up-front costs (up to $2k in ACT). WA and QLD seem to have hit the sweet spot, neither have an annual fee. The annual fee might seem attractive but the facts suggest a higher up-front cost with no annual fee would raise more money via increased uptake (and probably wouldn't need the MyPlates overhead to boot).
I like personalised number plates for vehicles in NSW - they add a little colour to a boring commute ... but they're under threat because the state government keeps hiking the price. The initial cost is up to $445 but then you have to pay an annual fee of up to $499 and they're now considering raising that to $599 p.a. The Minns Government needs to cut spending and not endlessly hike sneaky taxes.

Australia isn’t as far down this debt hole as the US but successive governments have been driving in the same wrong direction. Ray’s insight which is probably true here too: the politicians don’t have the political capital (my edit: or the nous to gain it) to make the requisite changes and need the populace to lead. The sooner we get in the right road the better. Are we Australians smart enough to demand similar changes of our government and accept the consequences? Apparently we need some memes…

Senator Alex Antic with a dire warning on the passing of the Australian Under 16 social media ban!! ‘My fear is that when we’ve finished tonight we’ve put another brick in the wall of a social credit style system in this country. And let everybody look back on tonight as a night of shame.’ Indeed!!

I thought @ChrisMinnsMP was doing surprisingly well since winning government but the last week has irrevocably tarnished that. This nonsense “equality” bill and the social media censorship event have no place in NSW or, indeed, Australia.

It strikes me I should've also tagged @ScottMorrisonMP given our nation's focus on technology-based solutions to carbon emissions. This seems like a good "shovel ready" candidate to get us moving in the right direction.

And @dom_perrottet and @Matt_KeanMP for that matter.

Hey @windowsinsider, I had someone try a social engineering attack on me yesterday. Surely you could tighten up Windows a little and Defender could start identifying, and defend from, such attack behaviours?

For example @windowsinsider (from this particular attack but this is the third time I've been walked through a similar script): 1. Run eventvwr from the run prompt (windows key + "r") 2. Visit anydesk.com 3. Install their remote desktop software

If all that happens in less than 15 minutes you've got an attack happening. How about it @windowsinsider?

I can see why @Jason made time for @rahulvohra on a Sunday. Brilliant.

Gender pay gap. Why report it when you can just as easily fix it with @eeStrategy?

Half of the employee panel (2 of 4), when asked for their salary expectations during hiring, provided the *lowest* number they would accept. Yes, they were both female. Fortunately the employers looked after them in both cases. #Compcon

Cruising #hrtechconf looking for fundamental shifts rather than mere optimisation and hype. I think talktospot.com in aisle 200 might be important. Certainly something @uber and other tech firms should be looking at deploying.
