I have a feeling that The Sift will not be added to Vanilla Minecraft, and I'm somewhat worried how the Community will react.
We're setting our expectations way too high for Mojang to deliver a 4th dimension in Vanilla.

Let it be known: Mojang shot itself in the foot by setting the expectation for a 4th dimension 4 years ago by adding this giant portal frame and making the sift be connected through this portal in the spinoff instead of a new portal during the Dungeons 2 Marketing.

All the hate for Dungeons II and the new Minecraft Drop is so unjustified and unfair. Be grateful you’re getting FREE UPDATES for a 17 year old game at all. Maybe some updates maybe small, but you never know what the future holds and what’s going on behind the scenes.
Minecraft Dungeons II is coming this year!
Take on high-stakes encounters, thrilling challenges, and new locations in the Minecraft universe! Wishlist now on your platform! #MinecraftLIVE #DungeonsII

So far i loved most of the babies but the baby villagers just having a normal sized head that is SQUARE (blasphemy) and is just the normal face but cut off chin and forehead... that feels incredibly lazy.
