Just want to address this from last night, because accountability is important to me. The initial wording was poor on my part, more than happy to hold my hands up to that. It wasn’t intended as such, just poor judgement in a split-second decision, but that’s no excuse. I’d like to think I’ve shown that I think fans’ opinions matter hugely, having covered every proposed protest so far, as well as highlighting when fans have expressed their views during games on my live blogs, every time. But that doesn’t change the fact I got it badly wrong yesterday. I’ve reached out to Kaiden, who organised yesterday’s protest, to apologise for the initial tone of my tweet. It’s not my place to say whether fans should or shouldn’t protest, but it’s their fundamental right to do what they deem necessary in relation to their beliefs.
