This isn't rocket science. If we want a clean city, we've got to pay enough in taxes to clean & maintain it thoroughly. From 2010 to 2023, we refused to pay enough, so Toronto got dirtier. Now we're FINALLY paying for better cleaning, things are finally get a bit cleaner!

Agreed. Unfortunately, under s. 45 of the Ontario Municipal Elections Act, 1996, voting hours across all Ontario municipalities are legally established to run from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day (1/3)
I was clearly very excited to vote today because I went to my local voting station thinking it would be open by 8:30am...no such luck! Voting stations open at 10 am (which, IMHO, is ridiculously late and inconvenient for working adults!). However, I, of course, will be back!

(2/3) It does give "bosses " and those of us with white collar jobs a bit of an advantage over service-class workers and less senior people, when it comes to casting our ballots. Maybe a contributor to lower turnout among the latter grojpsmin Ontario?

Thank you for pledging to protect the Greenbelt for future generations. It is encouraging to see support outside our 62 municipalities and to know the rest of Ontario sees the value in a healthy countryside.

Breaking: Election Day Chaos in Toronto I just spent 30 minutes waiting for my vote to be registered by the voting machine; it turns out that the voting machines are not taking votes, as they are displaying an error message. Manual count incoming, or scam? @oliviachow

I just voted because it matters - NOT as a symbolic gesture. After 10+yrs making things worse, Toronto's FINALLY making pro-environment, pro-housing change. Beaches-East York must *elect* a Mayor & Councillor committed to continuing that brand new path. environmentaldefence.ca/2026…

it's about POLICY. Will you or won't you have a Mayor & a City Councillor committed to continue, not reverse, #RapidTO, zero-parking midrise and 4-plex, pro-housing, favoured DC treatment for missing middle.

The new Serbian Parliament: 👇 The Albanian Coalition is the fourth-largest political force in Serbia. Milošević’s puppet party, Dačić’s SPS, disappears from the political scene. What a Tsunami!

Agree.
It's neck and neck - for the Mayoralty - and in so many key Toronto City Council. Candidates need your pro-housing, pro-environment, pro-greenbelt vote. Tell them they'll only get it if they continue Toronto's brand new policy path. 👇 environmentaldefence.ca/2026…

I don't get why so many on the left and the right point to ideology being at the heart of the BC results, when the evidence points to "BC NDP made a cynical election call and NDP voters stayed home" as the real factor.
A warning to all of the NDP - if you govern from the centre and not as Democratic Socialists - you risk this. The Bob Rae curse.

Remember! Polls close today at *8 pm*, an hour BEFORE most shops. Don't get confused. Go NOW & vote for pro-Greenbelt, pro-midrise, pro-4plex candidates who WONT impose parking. There are so many CLOSE races where you could be the deciding vote in your municipal election.

Accelerating RapidTO was one of @EnviroDefence's Big 7 #Toronto Mayoral Election Litmus Test policies last year, & one of the key asks in our supporter letter writing campaign for this budget. It's great to see @MayorOliviaChow and #tocouncil getting started on implementation.
Motion by @MayorOliviaChow to speed up RapidTO passes! 🥳👏 Thank you Mayor Chow and Councillors for listening to transit users about the need for a more reliable #TTC. This is a win for the climate, a better TTC, and people power. Congrats to all who spoke up + took action!
