Eventually, compute and storage will be the only things you can charge for. And if you own your own hardware, then just power

a nice counter argument to the "all software will be free" But I think the benefit is still in hosting and seems like this model will be even better for open-source software xitter.cf/JackEllis/status/21099…
Why would I pay $15/month for your software when I can plan, build, review, improve, host, launch, scale, secure, patch, monitor and debug it myself?

Switching between the Nashville SC game on Apple TV and the ALDS on HBO Max is such a bad bad experience.

Reflection joins the list of Nvidia & Thinking Machines who have released their strongest models and come up behind Chinese counterparts. There's a lot of ways people will overthink this, but the clearest takeaway should be that the Chinese are very very good at building LLMs.

The meme is going to be agents. Assistants is too long and may describe the first breakthrough usecase of agents but it doesn't fully capture what LLMs with computers will do long-term in people's lives. And ofc agents just sounds cooler.

What is RESTAP? Last year, when I started creating agents that work together in teams, I ran into a problem: What standard could I use for agent-to-agent chat that would also work for agent-to-UI chat? Protocols like MCP and A2A weren’t the simple shared chat interface I was looking for. I wanted someone to be able to open a chat window and talk to an agent through the same interface another agent would use. So I created RESTAP (REST Agent Protocol). My idea was to use REST, a familiar way to build APIs, and make the interface as simple as possible: /talk /news For normal chat, use /talk: message in → message out But there’s another scenario. Say one agent asks another: Agent A: “What’s your favorite color?” Agent B: “Blue.” Agent B’s answer doesn’t require another response, so it can send “Blue” to Agent A’s /news instead of /talk. This also helps solve the infinite chat loop problem, where two agents keep replying to each other forever. RESTAP is now being used by @TheHivemindOS as the common language for a virtual world where Agent NFTs can communicate with each other. It’s also being used by Lagrange Bend, a new project by @jiwa coming to Art Blocks, and more recently by @AGNTSOCIAL. If Agent NFTs all use the same agent-to-agent and agent-to-UI protocol, they’ll be able to communicate across collections and across the web.

Love baseball stats that end with “at least since 1900”
At 20 years and 107 days old, Ethan Salas is the youngest catcher since at least 1900 with two home runs in a game
There's a new version of this post

Interesting that all the reports have Paramount moving to “Nashville” and not “Tennessee”, especially since the state is doing the courtship
Scoop: Paramount is actively seeking office space in Nashville, a sign it’s seriously considering moving at least some operations from L.A. amid the antitrust fight over its proposed acquisition of WBD. The company is seeking roughly 400k square feet in the Tennessee capital that it could occupy within two to three years. politico.com/news/2026/09/16…

I wonder if frontier models will always be this helpful with creating tools for my local model so I don't have to use the frontier model.

Nice to see this promotion of open models by such a prominent figure, but why oh why is he so adamant about not using capitalization? It just makes it hard to read.

I’d like to see opinion polling on what HVAC installers think of climate change vs. the general population. Not at all relevant to this conversation but I *think* HVAC folks would believe less in climate change compared to general population
Sorry, but asking Jacob about AI extinction risk is like asking your AC guy about climate change. Not saying it's necessarily uninteresting or wrong per se but let’s keep things in perspective and hear from the full range of expertise across the ecosystem!

Lots of disagreement on this site about AI risks & safety but the important thing is we are having that discussion as a society. It's not clear China is having the same discussion.
Replying to @kyleichan
I agree it *should* be a massive wake-up call for Beijing on AI risks. But have we seen evidence that it is?

Another thoughtful post on @interconnectsai This part specifically:
Was spending too much time reading Tweets, so set out to write down why one resignation turned the embers of AI fear into a wildfire -- and importantly square which claims I think are valid or hyperbole in the resulting discourse. interconnects.ai/p/one-resig…

Similar thoughts from @ClementDelangue - more transparency from the frontier labs seems like the necessary path xitter.cf/ClementDelangue/status…
If they truly believe the risk is that high, and I think they do, then we need 100x more research and understanding of it. That requires them to openly share their models, datasets, training code, and agent traces.
