GPT-6 Astra is now in Microsoft Foundry. Frontier models used to compete on how well they answer. Astra competes on how much work it finishes: it plans, uses your tools, returns output ready to review. Claude Fable 5.1 landed in Microsoft Foundry. The place you should feel it is on the long runs. The tasks where an agent has to plan, use tools, hit an error and keep going without you pushing it prompt by prompt. The numbers look good (52.6% on Terminal-Bench-Science vs 24.7% for Fable 5), but the one that moves my spreadsheet is cache reads dropping 75%. When you run agents for hours, that shows up on the bill. And since it is in Foundry, you deploy it right next to everything you already have in Azure. No migration. Link to the announcement below. New side project, shipped and live. Cloud VM Manager: a Windows desktop app to manage your Azure VMs across subscriptions without touching the portal. Start, stop, hibernate, bulk actions, search, and local on/off schedules. Free on the Microsoft Store, open source under MIT. The twist: I built it while testing the GitHub Copilot app, GitHub's agentic desktop client that runs from issue to merged PR. Idea to Store, with an agent doing the work and me reviewing.
