Overnight, the Russians used 39 ballistic missiles and more than 120 attack drones and loitering munitions against our energy and critical infrastructure in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and Kharkiv. A targeted Russian ballistic missile strike specifically against energy infrastructure – the very infrastructure covered by the ceasefire announced by the American President. The strike was entirely deliberate and demonstrative in its scale – Russia has never before shown such ostentatious disrespect toward the United States. Russia does not consider the American President’s statements strong. Unfortunately, at least 600,000 people are now without power. Outages could become even more widespread. Unfortunately, there is significant damage to facilities and equipment – at 26 facilities of our power system and four facilities in the oil and gas sector. I am grateful to the repair crews, all Ukrainian energy workers, and the personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine for all their efforts to address the aftermath of this Russian strike. Tragically, there have been fatalities and injuries. We ask America and EVERYONE in the world who does not turn a blind eye to reality to respond – and to respond forcefully. Russia has squandered the opportunity for de-escalation and has clearly chosen to continue its insane war of annihilation. We ask President Trump to impose STRONG sanctions on Russia, especially since the Lindsey Graham bill, which was recently passed and signed into law, authorizes and regulates such measures. The American President has all the effective and necessary tools to bring peace closer through strength, justice, and pressure on the aggressor. We ask for additional packages of Patriot missile interceptors for Ukraine. It is entirely fair for us to tell the United States, Europe, and all our partners that no country in the world should be left alone to face such a deranged and pro-war actor as Russia. I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine! Peace can only come through strength, and we ask America to remember this principle of Reagan’s. Glory to Ukraine!

Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. Enough is enough. President Trump should rescind the diesel deal with Russia and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; use the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia Act to impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. » 🎙️ via @cfbayern

🚨 Rayan Cherki on Michael Olise terrorising Belgium again: “Belgium must be getting tired of seeing Michael. After the last game against them, I actually joked with him about it. I gave him the ball around the middle and, honestly, I thought my job was finished. Normally you give somebody the ball there and move because you expect another pass. Michael started driving. One player came. He went past him. Another came. He kept going. At some point I remember thinking, ‘Michael, you know you’re allowed to pass the ball back, right?’ He didn’t. He cut inside and scored. Afterwards I told him, ‘Next time just tell me you don’t need me after the first pass.’ He looked at me and said, ‘But you got the assist.’ I said, ‘Yes, technically. I passed you the ball in another postcode.’ That was the goal that won the game. So before tonight, when I saw Belgium again, I reminded him. ‘Please, if I give you the ball this time, don’t disappear with it for thirty metres.’ He just smiled. Then Zidane put both of us on the bench. Belgium were winning 1–0 and I was sitting beside Michael thinking, ‘Maybe this time they finally get one peaceful evening.’ Around 60 minutes, the coach looked towards us. I told Michael, ‘Well, their peace is over.’ We came on together. Twenty minutes later Michael gets the ball and finds me. I score. First thing I did when he came over was tell him, ‘Finally. You gave it back.’ He said, ‘Now we’re even.’ We weren’t. Because then he scored himself. And then he scored again. Two goals and an assist after coming off the bench. I remember looking at him after the fourth goal and saying, ‘Michael, what exactly did Belgium do to you?’ He said, ‘Nothing.’ That might actually be worse. Because if he was angry with them, at least there would be an explanation. The funny thing is, next time France play Belgium, their coach will probably spend the whole week preparing for him. They’ll watch the goal from the last game. ‘Don’t let him drive through the middle.’ Then they’ll watch tonight. ‘Don’t give him space around the box.’ ‘Don’t let him find Cherki.’ ‘Don’t let him cut inside.’ Eventually somebody at the back will raise his hand and ask the only sensible question: ‘Coach, what if Zidane leaves him on the bench?’ And the manager will probably say: ‘Then for however long he stays there, we stick to the plan.’ Because Belgium have now tried Michael Olise twice. The first time he started and terrorised them. The second time he sat under a blanket for an hour, came on and terrorised them anyway. At this point, I don’t think Belgium need a tactical plan for Michael. They need Zidane to forget to bring him.”

🚨Zinedine Zidane on Leny Yoro’s first start for France: 🗣️ “For a young player making his first start for France, you expect to see some tension. You expect a few moments where he looks around and realises, ‘Okay, this is different.’ But not Leny. He didn’t look nervous. He didn’t look overwhelmed. He didn’t show fear. He played like he had been here before. That is what impressed me most. He is strong, he is quick, he is technically very good, but there is something else about him confidence. A calmness that you don’t always see in young centre-backs. I’ve worked with many young defenders, and you can normally see the moment they start thinking too much. Leny doesn’t seem to play that way. His line-breaking passes are phenomenal. He doesn’t just win the ball and give it five metres sideways. He looks forward. He wants to break the opposition’s structure with his first pass. And his interceptions tonight were excellent. He reads the situation before it becomes dangerous. That is a quality you cannot simply teach a defender. He made life very difficult for Moreira and Lukaku tonight. Against players like that, one mistake can punish you immediately, but Leny kept his concentration and continued to play his football. As a coach, that is exactly the type of centre-back you want in front of your goalkeeper. Someone who can defend. Someone who can play. Someone who isn’t afraid to take responsibility with the ball. And most importantly, someone who doesn’t look at the occasion and become smaller because of it. Tonight was his first start for France, but watching him, you wouldn’t have known it. He looked like a player who belongs here. France have produced some incredible centre-backs over the years, and I’m not going to put that pressure on him after one game. But if you ask me whether Leny Yoro is one to watch for the future? Absolutely. We have a very special talent in France. And tonight, he gave everyone a little glimpse of why.”

🚨Belgium head coach Mark van Bommel on France’s 4-1 comeback in twenty three minutes: 🗣️ “I know the scoreline says 4-1, but I think we were lucky we even got one. We had a plan coming into this game: suffer, make life miserable for France, stay compact and make sure they couldn’t find the spaces they wanted. We managed to keep them quiet in the first half and make life difficult for Dembélé. At the break, I called my players and told them, ‘We’ve got through the first challenge. Now we have to stay on them as hard as possible.’ Then Zidane started making substitutions. He brought on Da Cunha, Olise and Cherki at the same time. I stood at the touchline and told myself, ‘We could be finished here.’ Olise and Cherki came in, and less than two minutes later he brought on Doué. I scratched my head and thought, ‘What have we done to Zidane? We only came here to compete, but it seems he has other plans.’ It wasn’t even five minutes before Doué scored an absolute screamer. I couldn’t move when the ball went in. I stood still and just watched. I didn’t want to say anything to my players yet because I knew something had changed. Then, within two minutes, Olise sped through my defender and put a marvelous cross on a plate for Cherki, and he finished it. I told myself, ‘Yeah, that is exactly why Zidane brought them in.’ In ten minutes, the three substitutions ended the work we had done for 50 minutes. And think about this: with 30 minutes remaining on the time board, we were winning 1-0. Before the game ended, we had lost 4-1. There is no better explanation for that than Michael Olise. I’ve been on the losing side before, but this is one loss where you know you’re definitely going to lose. At that point, I thought it was over. And in the 86th minute, Olise said, ‘I must have my say.’ He didn’t need to shoot the ball. He just glided through and tore our defence apart. That’s what I like about him. He doesn’t talk. He plays football. I see a lot of Ballon d’Or shouts for Lamine Yamal, Harry Kane and other players. But how Michael Olise is not getting those shouts is an absolute shocker to me. Because, to me, he’s my favourite to win the Ballon d’Or. He changed the game tonight completely. From the moment he came onto the pitch, we knew it was over. And he made it two goals for Olise. I don’t see any player deserving the Ballon d’Or more than that magician.”

🚨Romelu Lukaku on facing Leny Yoro in France’s 4-1 comeback against Belgium: 🗣️ “Before the game, I spoke with Senne Lammens. He wasn’t playing tonight, but he knows Leny very well from Manchester United. I asked him, ‘Senne, what is this kid like to play against?’ He looked at me and said, ‘Rom, don’t let him fool you. He looks young, but he defends like someone who has been doing this for ten years.’ I laughed and told him, ‘Come on, Senne, I’m not worried about a young centre-back.’ He said, ‘You will be if you try to play against him the way you normally do.’ Then he started explaining. ‘He doesn’t want you to receive facing goal. If you pin him and try to use your strength, he’ll wait for the touch and attack the ball. If you drop deeper, he’ll follow you. And if you try to run behind him, he’s quick enough to turn and recover.’ I told him, ‘So what’s the weakness?’ He just laughed. ‘That’s what I’m telling you. Don’t look for a weakness. Make him make a decision.’ That stayed in my head. And once the game started, I understood exactly what Senne meant. Yoro wasn’t trying to fight me physically every time. He was trying to control where I could receive the ball. If I moved across him, he adjusted his body early. If I tried to pin him, he stayed balanced instead of diving into the challenge. And the most impressive thing was his passing. Every time he won the ball, his first thought wasn’t, ‘Get rid of it.’ He was already looking for the next line. That changes how you defend against him because you can’t simply press him and expect him to panic. I told Senne after the match, ‘You weren’t joking about this kid.’ He just said, ‘I warned you.’ But seriously, Leny made it difficult for me tonight, I’m holding the ball up this kid is not giving me space to touch the ball each time I get the ball with all my strength it proves repulsive to him. At a point I asked myself “Who is stronger between both of us” He’s young, but he doesn’t defend like a young player. That’s the dangerous part. When you face a centre-back like that, you can’t just rely on strength. You have to move him, make him think, change your positioning and attack the spaces around him. He made me work for every touch. And for a first start at this level, that’s impressive.”

🚨🎙️Thierry Henry on Michael Olise’s performance in France 4-1 comeback win against Belgium; 🗣️"When you watch a player like Michael, you aren't just watching someone play football—you are watching pure elegance, you know? What he just did out there coming off the bench tonight against Belgium... it’s just ridiculous, man. He steps onto the pitch around the 60th minute, and in half an hour, he completely changes the entire match. Two goals, an assist, tearing them apart every time he touches the ball. He has that rare quality where the game just slows down for him while everyone else is running in high gear. I had the privilege of coaching him at the Olympics, and I used to turn to my staff in training and just say, 'Did you see what he just did?' He doesn't just play; he thinks the game two or three steps ahead. Look at what he’s doing right now for Bayern Munich and now pulling off a cameo like that for Les Bleus. Why shouldn't people be shouting his name for the Ballon d'Or? Why aren't we giving him that same hype? Put him in that spotlight with the very best, because talent like this doesn't come around every day. Unbelievable player, simple as that."
