Oh we aren't pretending.
i think people have gotten too comfortable pretending the star wars prequels are good movies

Rob Ager is one of the better film analysis channels but his suggestions here are just unnecessarily convoluted and miss the point on why Lucas made the story the way he did. As always George knows best!

You got filtered by peak cinema
Watched The Phantom Menace last night. That is genuinely such an impossibly bad movie I can't imagine watching it in 1999

This is just objectively better and makes it feel much more like a city in the clouds. Of all the changes to bitch about and you picked this lmao
The Cloud City additions to Empire Strikes Back are just such hot garbage

Actually you should gatekeep the fuck out of franchises you enjoy because otherwise you have new fans infiltrating the conversation and claiming that everything old is bad/redundant and the new stuff is the best. Just look at what happened to Silent Hill and Resident Evils fans!

"Just eat up your slop and don't criticize it!"
horror gatekeepers in general are cringe asf but the friday the 13th ones are an especially embarrassing subtype like they get nothing from their franchise for YEARS and as soon as they do they reject it and make it an us vs them situation w new fans… lmao fucking losers

Jaws can't achieve a higher score because letterboxds insipid user base can't appreciate the simple pleasure of men bonding over the common goal of taking down a shark
letterboxd is not a serious website

The Friday the 13th revisionism is funny because a majority of those movies are dogshit. There’s nothing “disrespectful” about Crystal Lake adding more lore to Jason who pretty much had little to no lore before hand

ROTS is the quintessential sensitive young man movie, which is why no one besides younger millennials/zoomers could truly appreciate it. It was about 6-7 years ahead of its time.
I actively refuse to believe Star Wars fans watched this in 2005 and thought it was straight pungent slop dogshit

Sorry but the George Lucas apologia will continue until morale shifts and 50-year-old manchildren see the error of their ways.

I was optimistic about this series but holy shit this sounds awful.

They didn't invent it but they helped fuel the anti Lucas hate train and added a ton of blatantly incorrect and ignorant criticisms toward the films. The early 2010's was by far the worst time with gen x seething over the prequels.
People in the replies were really tryna act like RLM invented prequel hate

So Amazon passed on a Stargate series from people that worked on SG-1 and Atlantis in favor of greenlighting this? What the hell lmao

The low rise jeans era was an absolute delight
I didn’t realize it at the time but being in high school in the early 2000s at the height of the low rise jeans era was a blessing my sons won’t experience
