So proud of our @GoIUPAT brother @TroyJackson207 on bringing home a victory in Maine tonight. I have known Troy for years, and he’s the real deal. With Troy in the Senate and @PingreeHannah at the helm in Augusta, working people in Maine will have two fighters in their corner.

Today the American people voted overwhelmingly against dirty politics, bad policies, and a lack of understanding what every day working Americans are facing in the economy. They voted for change and it’s time to put politics behind us and put the American working class first.

Ohio spoke loud and clear today! With Dr. @amyactonoh as Governor and our champion, @SherrodBrown, back in the U.S. Senate, the true winners tonight are Ohio workers.

Today is the day! The IUPAT shows up, we fight way above our weight class, and we don’t back down to anybody. And we’re going to put our member Troy Jackson in the U.S. Senate, along with other fighters for the working class. Get out and vote today!

Now THAT’S a closing message.
I’ve been in this fight my whole life. Don’t ever let them make you feel powerless. When working people stand together, there’s nothing we can’t do. Today is the last day to vote early. Let’s go win this thing, Maine.

Dolores Huerta’s life called us to see the impact that organizing can have on the lives of working people, our communities, and whole industries. As we mourn her death, we should also honor her legacy by recommitting to organize all workers -- including immigrant workers, those in jobs they tell us can’t be organized, and across the South, where workers have been stripped of their rights for far too long.

Last week, our General President Jimmy Williams Jr. went on Morning Joe to discuss next week's midterm elections. Working people are struggling right now and they're sick and tired of politics as usual. The labor movement is going to continue organizing around the issues that matter to our members, and we're going to make our voices heard on Tuesday, November 3rd!

At the beginning of their set at Power to the People Fest, Dropkick Murphys—organized labor’s favorite band—brought out @GoIUPAT President @Jimmy_iupat Williams to speak. Big cheer for unions!

“8 hours for work, 8 hours for rest, and 8 hours for what we will” may be taken for granted now, but it was something our union brothers fought and died for in the 1800s, culminating in the Haymarket affair. We will never forget the sacrifices made to get us to where we are today.

Orwellian descriptions of AI aim to create corporate legal immunity. “AI agents went rogue” casts the AI as having free will & thus not its creators’ responsibility. What’s really happening is that these are recklessly built products. The builders should be prosecuted.

College athletes need a seat at the table to set the terms of their work. Senators: reject the Protect College Sports Act and work with athletes to draft legislation that actually empowers them, not just the NCAA, sports conferences and universities.

Here’s a simple new law Congress could pass right now: If your company publicly declares that its products could literally end all human life, your company doesn’t get to proceed with an IPO.

25 years ago, our world changed forever. We mourn the lives of all who were lost during the September 11th attacks, including seven of our members from District Council 9 who were working at the World Trade Center. Never forget.

Our union is proud to represent workers not just in the finishing trades, but in lots of different industries, including trade show workers, public sector workers, and even stadium ushers. We're excited to welcome Labcorp workers into the IUPAT, but they need our support! Take 30 seconds to send an email to their bosses and tell them to stop union busting: win.newmode.net/iupatinterna…

Our contracts aren’t just words on a page. They’re stories of struggle, unity, collaboration, and compromise – and they’re the culmination of everything it means to be a union member. When we stand together as one union, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish together.
