Congratulations to
@MikhailRiches
on winning the #stirlingprize2019 showing what is possible when building homes, and that council housing can set a high bar for quality, energy efficiency and place making. Let's hope the industry takes note! architecture.com/awards-and-…

The Government is considering scrapping the NHS-Palantir deal.
Do you want Palantir out of the NHS?
RT if you do.

🦁 If society were a wildlife park, the lions 🦁 and 🐅- the apex predators- would constantly demand deregulation.
“Remove the fences” they’d say, “Let us hunt efficiently!”
But the reason wildlife parks have fences is simple: space is limited.
Without rules, the strongest consume everything and soon nothing is left.
Capitalism is no different.
It only works inside an ordered society, with laws, standards and limits. Remove those limits and what happens isn’t growth 👉it’s predation. The herbivores are eaten. The commons are stripped. Power concentrates.
We’ve already seen this experiment.
Russia deregulated into oligarchy. The result? Population collapse. Dehumanisation. A war that has killed well over a million people barely noticed inside Russia because society has been hollowed out
That war does not benefit Russian society. It benefits only a tiny elite.
America 🇺🇸 is now racing down the same path, replacing democratic restraint with oligarchic power. And Brexit Britain, under Starmer, is following fast, deregulating standards, weakening protections, and calling it “growth”.
It isn’t! It is apex predator growth only.
The European Union is being pulled apart by this logic.
🇭🇺 Countries like Hungary are drifting toward the Russian model.
🇺🇸 Trump is trying to drag western Europe into his orbit.
👺 He does not care if eastern Europe falls under Putin’s control.
This is not about left vs right.
It is about whether rules exist at all.
So when someone tells you deregulation brings growth, understand what they really mean:
👉 It brings growth for the predators.
👉 It brings collapse for everyone else.
Remove the fences and eventually, there is nothing left inside the park.

Hey @Google what is happening with the untrusted Chromecast issue? There seems to be no clear statement, but if you've effed it, just tell us, so we can do something about it... I have a connected device that won't connect. It's mad.
Can I just shock you? #AccidentalPartridge
Have I ever told you how much I love football?...

The proposal for a Youth Mobility Scheme falls far short of “free movement” because it only allows individuals to come for a limited period & does not allow them to settle in the UK or EU member state.
Having robbed our youth of all the freedoms we ourselves enjoyed surely this is the absolute least we can give back to them

Ace Ventura: Ket Detective.
The latest from the Papua New Guinea Courier's correspondent in Washington.
Excellent piece. As @PeteApps says, variety is key. Not just of types of housing, but who provides them. Until government starts to see housing as a social need rather than an economic driver, nothing will change...
It is well worth reading @PeteApps on how the current Labour government's plans for New Towns differ from - and fall far short - of those delivered by the 1945-51 Labour Government:

Paul Warne, thank you for bringing us back to the Championship.
It's a pity how it ended, but I'll forever be grateful for the incredible moments at the end of last season.
Unfortunately, the Championship was a step too far. Best of luck for the future 🐏 #DCFC
