Creating content has helped me make 7 figures a year as a creator + founder and grow a 100K+ design community, Design Buddies! How:
- Not stress about following trends. Focusing on sharing my own experiences helped me grow a community that resonates the most and helps me become more memorable! I like to learn about best practices but never let any constraints impact my creativity.
- Building a cult-like following. Like everyone gets bunny ears at parties! It's awesome to be part of Design Buddies and I make everyone feel awesome being part of Design Buddies.
- Not be a perfectionist. I show up every day. Every post is like a lottery ticket, you never know who will resonate with it. To be cringe is to be free. Those who call you cringe are ngmi and don't worry about them
- Using AI tools to give me feedback and ask me critical questions!! Never using it to generate my content tho.
- Being loud about what I want.
- More money = more impact you can make. It's not a selfish thing at all. Not a sell out at all. I found a way to make money and build a great community and you can, too!!
Excited to dive into this more at How to create content that converts at SF tech week on Wed Oct 7, 7 pm which you should come. RSVP link in the comments

if your parents aren't deeply confused by what you're doing with your life, you’re playing it too safe

You don't necessarily need to launch your product! You also don't need to build in public!
If your customers aren't on Linkedin or Twitter it could be a waste of time. Don't get distracted, not every startup needs a launch video or a PH launch.

stop chasing that one viral post just for a quick dopamine hit
focus on building an audience, understanding their needs, and creating content that caters to them
this will ultimately benefit you in the long run
