Following surgery once I woke up screaming in such pain that no pain med the nurse tried touched it until she tried fentanyl which turned the pain off like a switch. It did nothing else: no euphoria only stopped the pain.
I dread to think that people live in that kind of pain.

Why don't anti-opioid crusaders advise pharmacists to tell patients their pain med is "like fentanyl" instead of "like heroin"? That'd be FAR more effective? There's arguably a strategic legal reason & it has to do with MINIMIZING the role of street fentanyl in the opioid crisis.
