Psychedelic Therapy PSA: If anyone ever offers you doses as high as mentioned in this article, especially of Psilocybin Mushrooms, RUN! There is never a need for more than a 7-8 grams dose, and anything beyond that hits the diminishing returns, and “I’m gonna soil myself” realm, and it’s completely pointless. Of course we should know these folks don’t know what they’re talking about when they say “strain doesn’t matter”. First off, terminology is mixed, and incorrect, but that means jack shit, and is inconsequential to the matter at hand. Second off, Variety/Strain have everything to do with what kind of experience is to be had. These scientific studies have used synthetic, pure psilocybin, that part of the article is true. The parts that’s absolutely absurd is saying that what Psilocybe Cubensis variety/strain used is immaterial, and then throwing 60 dried grams of TIDALWAVE in a smoothie! WTAF?! 😳 There is never a point in going beyond a 7-8 dried grams dose of any variety/strain of Psilocybin containing mushrooms, NEVER! You will only cause discomfort, nausea, and bowel release for NO REASON. You will not have any better, or more lasting results, and the discomfort you’ll feel is completely unnecessary. Moving on to COST, anyone remember me saying this has all turned into a profiteering shit show? Does $5000-$9000 to sit in a room with a grifting charlatan and get dosed at an amount than will cause completely unnecessary discomfort sound smart to anyone? Psychedelics have enormous potential to help people, they literally saved my life. But I’ll be damned if I sit quiet while watching these hacks, and grifters make money while selling bullshit, and putting people at risk. Lastly, anyone who says there’s no difference in Vareity/strain is a moron you should avoid at all costs. Tidalwave is very much a different experience than Golden Teacher, and takes much less dried mushroom to have a much more intense experience. Be safe, do your research, ask questions, when in doubt get the fuck out. Ok one more “lastly”, a professional “trip sitter” is just someone who has stayed sober while their friends tripped balls. They aren’t special, it doesn’t take special training, you’re literally just there to say “calm down man you’re just tripping”, and to call an ambulance if things go really really bad, which they won’t so long as you remind your buddy “hey man you’re just tripping”. And I’ll tell you now, there are “professionals” in the less than 10 year old “professional” psychedelic industry that will call me an ignorant ass for what I’ve said. All the while forgetting I helped some of them grow, access, and source information that lead to legalization. They’ll forget that 8 years ago we had this very conversation, and they agreed. But now that there’s money to be made, I’ll be considered an outsiders again, and an enemy to “science and good medical oversight”. 🤣 The hypocrisy I’ve witnessed over the last 11 years has been astounding. Ok, last story, had a conversation with a “nonprofit” about doing Psilocybin retreats in Colorado in 2023, right after we legalized here. Let them know the laws, and when it would be legal to begin holding retreats here. Offered them the land our own nonprofit uses for hunting camps. They came to Colorado a month later, and held a retreat without saying a word to us. It was still illegal to hold a retreat of that kind at the time. It wouldn’t become legal for another 18 months.
