I got recommended a YouTube video where a middle-aged guy talks about reading JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Volume 1 for the first time, but he's very obviously just reading a ChatGPT summary of it and nobody in the comments is bringing it up. I feel like I'm going insane.
I would actually argue that indie studios streamlining their animation pipelines and making TV-quality work efficiently on a fraction of the budget is, in and of itself, pushing the medium of animation forward.
My opinion (that nobody asked for) is that traditional definitions like this fundamentally do not graft cleanly onto indie animation. There are nuances of network pilots that do not need to be replicated by indie animation, because network pilots are made for a network.
I really wish people were smart enough to recognize that animators need to draw the characters not once, but like 100,000x, all very very consistently.
"Here's my comparison between a drawing that's on screen for 0.1 seconds and my rendering that took three hours" like stfu
Btw I was like, *this* close to making my SBR ED "Jesus, Etc." by Wilco instead of "I'll be Lucky Someday", and if I had to put money on what they'll actually use for the adaptation, it'd probably be that.
So I just rewatched Holes last night, and...
Is it just Araki's favorite movie of all time?
Donatello's backstory directly references it, the "Devil's Palm" feels like a parallel to "God's Thumb", and JJL's whole story revolves around a paternal family curse.
Are there more???
