In 2018, the Huffpost, People, and Salon made light of Ivanka Trump’s retweeting a quotation she attributed to the ancient Greek philosopher, Socrates, but which was in fact expressed by "my Socrates" in Way of the Peaceful Warrior.
, her protagonist Lizbet Keaton is searching for an “inspirational meme that will make her feel better.” The author then describes how the character “spends seventy-seven dollars on a framed quote from Wayfair," again mistakenly attributing it to the ancient Greek.
