Good day to bust out a classic:
Happy 40th birthday to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, to all who observe!

Yes. All the laws Trump cites to take these equity stakes existed before Trump. Yet NO PRESIDENT - incl. Biden & Obama - interpreted them as giving the executive branch the power to own shares in private companies. That's partly bc the old GOP would have FREAKED. No longer.
The Trump presidency is an unprecedented victory for socialism. Not only for what it's doing, but because the Republican party can't object on ideological grounds. Paves that road to socialism, w/o good intentions.

Oh, fuck.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…

The stuff I’m seeing today about Lindsey Graham isn’t the first time these accusations have been publicly aired. He’s also dead and can’t defend himself. It’s obviously partisan because the narrative was “this could shape up a Senate race.”

Granted, the accusation of a 17-year old being involved is deeply troubling. I don’t intend to dismiss that.

The backstory of this ad completely invalidates it and makes Vivek Ramaswamy look like a desperate sack of shit. It's like finding out the girl in LBJ's Daisy ad was a communist agent who had just drowned a sackful of kittens.
BOMBSHELL: Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton’s own mother urges voters not to vote for her daughter. “My name is Donna Arthur and I’m Amy Acton’s mother. I worked at Children and Family Service Association, building one of the first two sexual abuse programs in America. I love my daughter, but when I saw her lying about her opponent—and it’s not easy for a mother to say this—but Amy has a serious problem. She is a liar. She lies about her past. She says she grew up living in a tent. None of that is true. She’s lied her entire life. My daughter needs help, and she can’t help you if she needs help herself. People can change, but first they have to tell the truth, and my daughter still isn’t doing that. Don’t vote for people who lie. Don’t let her become your governor. If you think she’ll make your life better, you’re fooling yourself. It will only get worse.” That’s one hell of an October surprise.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Donna Arthur lost custody of her children 48 years ago due to poor living conditions and charges against Donna’s husband of child molestation. Dr. Acton has not seen her estranged mother since then suggesting that Donna is unlikely to have reliable insights about Dr. Acton. nationalreview.com/news/amy-acton… vindyarchives.com/news/2019/aug/…

You can’t keep claiming that the GOP is the lesser of two evils if it now stands on the side of Vladimir Fucking Putin. Trump is your guy. Vance is your guy. Whoever authorized crippling Ukraine’s defenses to Putin’s attacks on civilians — your guy.

In the lead up to January 6th, Christian Nationalists told us loudly, repeatedly, and clearly what was coming. Media and law enforcement ignored them. If we continue to ignore their treasonous calls, we should expect a repeat of J6.
Racist white nationalist pastor Joel Webbon says his upcoming conference will begin the process of laying out "battle plans" for "Christian nationalists on the right to be able to seize power": "This is here to stay. And it's not if we win, it's when we win" peoplefor.org/rightwingwatch…

Trump has burned through decades of accumulated goodwill from US allies. I know his behaviour wounds many patriotic Americans. Still, the fact is that he keeps getting away with it. I am beginning to think that the damage might be irreparable.
Trump: “Russia, frankly, has treated Ukraine pretty well. They haven’t really done much.” WHAT. A. MONSTROUS. FUCKING. CUNT.
