This is an incredibly difficult video to watch. You realize that you are witnessing the final seconds of people’s lives. People who were simply trying to find shelter. I watched it, and I cried. It is heartbreaking beyond words. But I am asking you to watch it, too. The world needs to understand what Ukraine experiences every single day. 💔 Komyshuvakha, Ukraine. A police officer’s body camera captured the final moments of people who were trying to shelter from russian guided aerial bombs inside a former school building. russia dropped at least nine aerial bоmbs on the building: first FAB-500 bombs, followed by a FAB-3000. Please, share this. Let people see what russia is doing to Ukraine.

Incidents like this put the game into perspective. May Jesús rest in peace.
🖤 DEP

🚨Jesús Owono on the tragic death of Jesús de Miguel and the threats he has received following the incident: 🗣️Reporter: How difficult has the entire situation been for you, particularly following the passing of Jesús de Miguel and the threats you’ve received since the incident? 🎙️Jesús Owono: Honestly, this is something I don’t think I’ll ever be able to explain properly. There are moments in football when you forget that this is just a sport, but situations like this remind you how fragile life is. Jesús de Miguel was a person before he was a footballer. He had a family, friends, dreams and people waiting for him outside the football pitch. My heart goes out to his family. I cannot imagine the pain they are experiencing right now. I wish there were something I could say that would make things easier for them, but there isn’t. Sometimes, words simply aren’t enough. And I want people to understand something: I am not celebrating anything. There is nothing to celebrate here. A human being has lost his life, and that is bigger than football, bigger than any club and bigger than any rivalry. What has been particularly difficult for me is the reaction I’ve received. I’ve been getting threats, abusive messages and people saying things that I honestly never imagined I would have to read about myself. 🗣️Reporter: Do you feel people have already judged you without considering what you’re going through? 🎙️Owono: Absolutely. People have created their own versions of events, and some have already decided that I’m someone they should hate. They don’t know what happened behind closed doors, they don’t know everything I’ve experienced, and most importantly, they don’t know what this situation has done to me personally. I go home and I’m still a human being. I have a family who sees these things, people who worry about my safety and loved ones who are also affected by the things being said about me. I can accept criticism. I’m a professional footballer, and I understand that people will have opinions about my performances and decisions. But threats are different. Telling someone they deserve to suffer or making their family feel unsafe is not criticism. It is something else entirely. Reporter: What would you say to those who continue sending you these messages? Owono: I would ask them to stop for a moment and think. Imagine being in my position. Imagine your family reading those messages and wondering whether you’re safe. Would you still think it was justified? I’m not asking anyone to forget Jesús. I’m not asking anyone to stop grieving. His death deserves to be treated with seriousness, dignity and compassion. His family deserves privacy and respect. But please, don’t use his death as a reason to threaten another human being. I also want to thank the people who have reached out privately, offered support and reminded me that there are still people who understand the importance of compassion, even when emotions are running high. I cannot bring Jesús back, and I cannot change what has happened. But I hope we can prevent this tragedy from creating more pain for more families. Football will continue, matches will be played and seasons will come and go. But a life cannot be replaced. My thoughts remain with Jesús de Miguel and everyone who loved him.

There's something about Mikkel Honoré's story that puts professional cycling into perspective. He's just signed with Jayco AlUla for next season. Another transfer in a busy market. Easy to scroll past. But behind that announcement is a rider who's had to rethink his relationship with cycling after a serious crash left him in intensive care, and I think that's something we sometimes forget when we watch professional sport. These riders aren't just numbers on a results sheet. They're people with families. People who worry about their futures. People who have lives outside cycling. We watch them descend mountains at incredible speeds. Race shoulder to shoulder. Take risks that would terrify most of us. And because they're professionals, we almost start treating those risks as normal. Until something happens that reminds us just how fragile it all is. What I find inspiring about Honoré is that he's found a way to move forward. A new team. A new opportunity. And perhaps a different perspective on what really matters. Because sometimes an experience like that changes the way you measure success. Maybe winning isn't quite as important as it once seemed. Maybe simply being healthy enough to get back on your bike means more. I think that's a lesson that extends far beyond professional cycling. We spend so much time chasing the next goal that we can forget how fortunate we are to be able to ride at all. Has an injury, accident or time away from cycling ever completely changed the way you appreciate being on the bike? 📷 Getty Images
