"As someone with a medical degree" Doubt
As someone with a medical degree I still cannot get over the fact that they let him get on a plane to another country with a blood clot in his leg. What the hell was his medical team thinking.

Anytime someone claims that Australian medicine doesnt have a massive racism problem they should just be directed to r/ausjdocs for blatant demonstrations

Reminder : If you see someone shoplifting from a big chain supermarket, no you didnt.
I can’t believe this! At least once a week now I’m witnessing blatant shoplifting from @tesco express. Today it’s mainly sandwiches. Broad daylight, with no fear of prosecution. Security are helpless, they should be trained with tasers and bloody well use them with full force!

The nostalgic love of white coats among a subset of UK doctors feels somehow Brexity to me. Real "we need to take back our profession by harking back to the 'good' old days" energy White coats were shit. Good riddance
It costs under ten pounds to buy a short sleeved lab coat online. The coat allows for an ID badge to be clipped to a pocket, where it doesn't rotate and get obscured. White coat=doctor. I think it's time that we returned to wearing white coats at work.

So many egos taking a battering from this. I love it!
It’s funny when doctors leave the NHS and start talking about how it isn’t financially worth it or the System is falling apart or medicine is just service provision. The real reason is you didn’t have the mental resilience. you couldn’t hack it ,that’s okay. It’s not for everyone

The displays of bigotry fuelling the riots that erupted in largely loyalist parts of Belfast are not novel – they are annual. Colloquially known as “recreational rioting”, youths are encouraged to create disorder by paramilitaries and criminal gangs. bylinetimes.com/2026/06/12/n…

I am absolutely disgusted to hear that a nurse from another country was chased by masked men into work the Ulster hospital. This is sickening, cowardly racism and deserves nothing but utter revulsion from everyone in NI. I hope the PSNI can identify and apprehend them.

Belfast adding to the platter of flags with a knights templar flag. Loyalists continuing to fully align themselves with far right racists. I left this place as soon as I could for good reason.

🚨 NEW: The family of the Belfast attempted beheading victim has called for calm "We have many migrants who make a deeply valuable contribution to our country. We depend on them to make our country work. We do not want this terrible tragedy to be used to divide people"

A child being rushed from a burning building by a riot police officer into a police landrover as everything goes up in flames. I hope those who fanned the flames are content with themselves. Because they knew this violence was coming. You can't light the touch paper and expect us to believe you when you walk away and say "how awful". How some politicians in Northern Ireland have conducted themselves in the last days, months and years has in huge part contributed to this. Absolutely disgusting.

There is no reason for this particular attack of the many many horrific attacks that happen in Belfast to have had such an intense response in this form other than racism. Those racist apoligists deflecting from that point can absolutely get fucked.
Why do people think that to show outrage at something despicable you need to have also publicised your outrage at every tragedy ever? It’s dumb. You’re the one trying to divide here.

A lot of men up in arms over the attack in North Belfast who have absolutely nothing to say femicide levels in NI, the most deadly place to be a women in the UK and Ireland. Whipping up rage and anger because an immigrant is involved tells you everything about their motives.

I work in a state that has a single electronic medical record across all hospitals. We still ask patients to repeat their history over and over because it has real benefit for making a diagnosis and decision.
The Single Patient Record will mean NHS staff can securely see their patients’ medical history, no matter where they are treated. It will mean safer, quicker and more accurate care. 🎥 @jamesmurray_ldn explains on @BBCNews

The EHRC’S new code has been published. We’ll have a detailed analysis out shortly. The guidance has been toned down from the previous draft – but it still treats trans people like they’re a third sex. This pushes trans people out of public life and violates their human rights.

Proud of you Australia.
Moments after court adjourned, Sall Grover ran to her dad and started sobbing into his shoulder. The law is very clear: discrimination against trans women is not acceptable. Thanks to all involved for reaffirming this in such a powerful way. #TickleVGiggle
