Computing is a moral activity, and we must take responsibility for its creation and the consequences of surrendering ourselves to it.
The beauty of Melbourne is the variety of cuisine at any time of the day.
Freshly made dumplings at Mr. Chef in Clayton.
As an Australian I'm constantly watching for kangaroos by the side of the road..in a video...taken in Germany.
I've had my share of Kangaroos hopping right in front of my car. No mishaps ever, thankfully.
Is it just me or others also used more than one method to check?
I used 58 +2+35, then quickly did 50+30+15.

The person you will be in 5 years depends largely on:
1. The books you read
2. The food you eat
3. The habits you cultivate
4. The people you surround yourself with
5. The conversations you engage in
6. The mindset you adopt
7. The risks you take and lessons you learn
Consistency and a niche = success of some sort.
Good on these guys. 👏
My girlfriend has been posting running content on Instagram and TikTok for the past few months. Still a pretty small account.
She recently posted a review of the ASICS Megablast, and someone from ASICS reached out asking for her mailing address.
We got home from our run today to a massive box on our doorstep.
FIVE pairs of shoes. Including a pair of Metaspeed Edge Tokyos in a colorway I’ve never even seen before.
She’s been so consistent with posting, and I’m just ridiculously happy for her.
How cool is that?
I didn't check if it's true or not, but if it is, then we've some introspection to do in Victoria.
🚨BREAKING: Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz detailed how she saved taxpayers about $33 million by skipping new uniforms, a cold plunge, massage tables, and logos on everything.
She said the office was paying the county $54 million a year for IT services. Closer supervision and review brought that down to $42 million, a $12 million annual savings without cutting services.
Moving toward managing its own technology independently is projected to save another $6 to $7 million, bringing the total IT savings to $18 to $19 million a year. Eliminating the county’s Sergeant-at-Arms program will save about $4.1 million annually and return those deputies to patrol.
Keeping the existing brown uniforms instead of switching to green avoided roughly $4.8 million. Updating graphics on about 1,700 white vehicles instead of repainting them avoided another $5.7 million.
Those two decisions alone account for $10.5 million. Buying office supplies directly from the county’s vendor saved about $200,000 a year. Fuel rebates, maintenance discounts, and scheduling changes add more. Together the quantified items total approximately $32.8 to $33.8 million in savings and avoided costs.
The sheriff’s office spokesman has also pointed to the uniform and vehicle decisions as part of the rebranding from a police department to a sheriff’s office without the full cost of new colors and paint.
Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz says her office has already cut or avoided roughly $33 million by keeping the old brown uniforms, not repainting the cars, trimming IT costs, and dropping the Sergeant-at-Arms detail. She says the savings are real and the work is just starting.
Couldn't have summarised it better.

My family finds Leslie Nielson movies silly, but I think they're brilliant. You need a sense of humour to understand them.

Read more old books. Most books go out of print within a few years. Some survive decades, but only a rare few survive centuries. They last because they are timeless, not trendy. Those who understood us centuries ago still have plenty to teach us.
Wise Words!
Change careers every year, find your obsession, keep your phone in airplane mode, do what you say you’re going to do, be ruthless with follow up, ignore networking events, stop asking people to be your free mentor, join a high end mastermind, let flow states take over your life. These simple principles will help you become elite.

"20 years from now, the only people who will remember that you worked late are your kids."
Beautiful story. When I moved from Hong Kong to the land of Oz, I paid an exorbitant price to move my books. I could've replaced them, but I didn't have heart to leave my friends behind.
I love my books and can't think of losing them. Some of these are from my childhood.

Why don't people follow up?
"They give up, man."
"Giving up is so easy. So easy to give up. Giving up is so easy. Quitting is so easy."
"Trying is so much harder, but it's also free."
