We will understand each other a good deal better if you appreciate that my three greatest role models in life are Avon out of Blakes 7, Eric Praline, and Zippy from Rainbow.

Am 4 episodes into this BBC history drama series from 1974 and basically features every character actor in Britain, it's wonderful! (grotty DVD quality notwithstanding). What a bunch of rotters those emperors all were, though, eh? 🙃

Health and Social Care have been integrated in one service in Northern Ireland since 1946, so I'm sure Andeh will be inviting all the Stormont parties along to explain how it works 🤠

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has investigated around 4000 deaths and 20,000 rape offences since its formation in 2001 but withdrawing uniformed officers from pride has been the ‘hardest and most difficult thing’ of Deputy Chief Constable Bobby Singleton’s 25 yr career🌈
The PSNI’s deputy chief constable has claimed that withdrawing uniformed officers from a pride parade was the “hardest and most difficult thing that I have been involved with in 25 years in policing”. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8en…

Question for teh political analysts: has there ever been a mid-term 'shoo in' Prime Minister in the UK that has not ended in ignominous hubritic farce? I can't really think of one but then I don't have an encyclopaedic knowledge stretching back to 1721 🫠

@seatsixtyone yet again I have been fool enough to attempt a #SailRail journey, London to Dublin, and turned up in Holyhead to find that the @StenaLineUKIE sailing that @tfwrail booked me on doesn't exist 😂 Booked in April but Stena say their timetable changed 'before Xmas'. 🙄

@tfwrail's "Customer Services" desk at Holyhead station consists of 1 put-upon train dispatcher who has no access to any IT system at all and just says I have to 'phone the website'. What is the point of a staffed station when that's all they can offer? 🙄

Doubtless once I finally get home I can look forward to about 6 weeks of tedious email ping pong with TfW's complaints process that will offer zero explanation and precious little beyond a partial refund amount to less than the price of cup of coffee 🥱

Yes but when Harrison Chase says 'In different ways, of course' in Seeds of Doom is this a homage to one of Peter Cushing's lines in Curse of Frankenstein? Or do all mad scientists just talk like this? 🤔

What about making the all Ireland bodies work! It will take 100 years for Waterways to open the Ulster to the border & Sinn Fein has not delivered one mile from the North.

It's funny reading RTD's Queer as Folk DVD boxet liner notes (from 2003), where he says for years he kept putting gay bits in his shows til someone told him 'oh just write a gay show, dammit, it's what you've wanted all along' ....

... but of course, Queer As Folk is turn full of endless Dr Who bits, which is what he *really* wanted to write all along. #bless
