In terms of the unacceptable and critical gaps in our ability to prevent intimate partner of violence in Indigenous communities, my charity Jilya applied for funding to address all of it; as well as develop the first culturally and clinically informed prevention program into high risk remote Communities and surprise surprise we missed out on the funding.
This also included me donating all of my intellectual property and time for free
And all we hear about is this so-called “Aboriginal gravy train” of funding- well clearly the train didn’t get my address.
We are now looking to pitch to philanthropic and other interested orgs to develop this vital program.
If you think you can help-we would love to hear from you

My opinion piece on intimate partner violence in Indigenous communities will be published by “The Saturday Paper” midnight tomorrow. I’ll send a free link to the article here exclusively for my followers.
I’m incredibly proud of it and my hope is that it will change racially charged attitudes towards this issue that have informed too much government policy-this has done little but ensure our most vulnerable victims - that being Aboriginal women, remain even more vulnerable.
That’s an outcome none of us want.
This was a brilliant lecture by Dr Ebonie Rio @tendonpain. @AusPainSoc
Our choice of words impacts rehab outcomes. Ebonie Rio @tendonpain shared so many practical, thought-provoking tips for working with people with tendinopathies. #AusPainSoc

Congratulations on a brilliant film on a local story of a global legend of the game of soccer. Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskás made a home in Melbourne in the late 1980’s, on my doorstep, and I was largely unaware of this extraordinary story until today. Salute. 👏👏👏👏
This is it! Seven years in the making and we finally got Ange & The Boss - Puskas in Australia to theatres around the country! See it in front of an audience this weekend. It's funny and life affirming. All sessions angeandtheboss.com

I’m gonna say this again “pain science” is a made up term
More accurately it is “ the science of pain” Pain is explained by multiple fields of science. I know it’s semantics but we cant just invent a new science.
Humans are complex, their suffering is too.
Bravo bravo Bravo.
✨My essay in @TheLancet this week has made the front page!✨ (I didn’t know about this 🤗)
‘Reflect, Collaborate and Listen’ looks at why doctors don’t listen and the urgent need to rebalance the power dynamic in the patient - doctor relationship.

Great list of books. Have only read one. Reading is a full time job. Lots to absorb here
Some of my favorite books from 2024 (in no particular order): A Brief History of Intelligence by @maxsbennett
If you have an interest in evolution, the mind, and artificial intelligence, this one is for you. I would love to take a course based on this book
