Has Atlantic Yards really “gone nowhere”? normanoder.substack.com/p/ha… A summary in The City Reporter misses the opportunity to clarify the project’s progress and risks, notably whether the full platform would be completed.

Orbán gone. The Bolsonaros gone. Vucic gone. Netanyahu so desperate to avoid facing the criminal courts of his country if he loses the upcoming election that he's trying to incite a nuclear war. Americans can do their part to stem the toxic tide of global fascism on November 3.
BREAKING: Putin just lost another ally in Europe, and people are celebrating in the streets. Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia’s authoritarian leader and close ally of Trump and Putin, has officially conceded defeat in a historic snap parliamentary election. The student-led opposition movement has won, ending more than a decade of Vucic’s grip on power. Voter turnout reached nearly 70%, the highest since the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1992.

I’ve been here in Belgrade, Serbia covering the elections the past few days. The Students have won, in a moment that is historic since a protest movement has almost never been able to gain political power. Vucic has conceded defeat. I hope to God this doesn’t turn into a repeat of Hungary and Tisza, because there is a great risk of that with so little known about what the plans are now that the election has been won.

Freddie and Navongela Jackson, a Black couple, were handcuffed for trespassing on property they own in Marion County, Florida. A deputy pulled onto their land, demanded ID, and detained Freddie even after he showed his license with the address. Ownership was confirmed minutes later and he was released. Handcuffing people for sitting on land they paid for is not a reasonable suspicion of a crime. It is an assumption that they do not belong there.

Is it OK now for Board of Elections poll workers to help put up Republican campaign signs on lampposts outside their polling site? We were just wondering if that’s included or if we have to pay extra. Nice of them to help out!

Northeast energy costs remain elevated in part due to New York blocking the Constitution Pipeline for nearly a decade, restricting low-cost Pennsylvania natural gas flows to Connecticut and New England. Limited pipeline capacity drives winter price spikes, more oil-fired generation and heating, and higher overall bills. Offshore wind delays, cancellations, and cost overruns, alongside renewable mandates, have not yet scaled reliable alternatives, sustaining oil dependence amid global disruptions.

The moment I realized Dems would do poorly in 2024 was when Staten Island early voting numbers came in high relative re other boroughs. We just got numbers from NYC—SI is significantly lower than 2024, but not quite as high as the mayoral race in 2025 during Mamdani victory.

UPDATE—The father that ICE is brutally beating up is a confirmed U.S. citizen.
ICE violently drag U.S. citizen out of car—in front of his pregnant wife & daughter. Nearly break backseat glass window all over 1 year old girl. "He’s from here," wife tells them. "Our little girl is here—and I'm pregnant." All while wife is trying to show agents their IDs. Agents open the door and yank the husband and father out of drivers seat. Then 3 agents pin him to the ground and jump on his back. Agents blame the family they just victimized for being "difficult." Incident occurred in Donna, Texas. Elzorroysupandilla doesn't have an account on this platform—so posting first full length, English translated, and credited video here to help raise awareness.

#OTD in 2024, after a four year campaign we secure landmark designation of 50 West 13th Street, an 1846 house with a remarkable history from abolition and women’s suffrage to experimental theater: villagepreservation.org/camp…. It’s now finally to be restored, thanks to landmarking.

Some facts about these 28 people: - Every one was a lawful permanent resident. - 4 of the 28 are accused only of registering, not voting. Only 22 are accused of voting in 2024. - The median and average age is 50. - 22 noncitizen voters = 0.0001% of California's 2024 electorate.
BREAKING: Federal authorities have begun arresting 28 noncitizens accused of illegally registering to vote in the U.S., with prosecutors saying many actually cast ballots in previous elections. First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli says the arrests began early this morning, with at least 11 suspects already in custody and more arrests expected. The new charges come as the DOJ reports charging 113 noncitizens across 20 states with illegal voting and registration offenses in just seven weeks. "These are not isolated instances," Essayli says, revealing that the Justice Department has charged 156 people with voting fraud-related offenses since the administration began, adding that federal authorities are investigating thousands of additional potential cases nationwide.

Texas man dies in ICE detention center—was a legal permanent resident in U.S. ICE has admit in an official statement that he did have a green card. Despite this he was locked up for 4 months. Staff refused to give him his heart medication—and ignored his report of chest pain and trouble breathing the day before he died. ICE now claims that he obtained his green card fraudulently by failing to disclose a 2004 arrest for theft. His daughter says they are lying—that everything was properly disclosed and legally approved. Emiliano Andrade-Covarrubias lived in Dallas, Texas for more than 30 years. He was the father of 3 U.S. born children and worked as a construction contractor. Posting first full length, English translated, and credited video here to help raise awareness.

I knew Trump would try to undermine the democratic process. I didn't expect him to be as ineffective as he's been. It's horrible what he's doing, but he won't stop patriotic Americans from going to the polls. We will defeat him.
