Every reason NC State hired Rivers checks the same boxes UNC had when they hired Belichick. The only way it’ll be different? Staff. Belichick brought his buddies who didn’t understand college football. How will it look for Rivers? Time to find out.

Maybe I’m a rube but I kinda love a program like NC State taking a swing like this. If you hire an up and coming candidate, it’s likely he leaves if he succeeds. Make a splash with a guy who will generate buzz and is financially set from his NFL career
