We didnât pay them anything and thereâs no special deal. Theyâre launching these substacks because they think itâs a good idea. And I agree. Itâs a very good idea to build a network of substacks. Networks are powerful.

State Farm Arena announced that Enes Kanter Freedom has been given a private suite for Game 3.
The announcement said that Freedom contacted officials to âexpress concerns about his personal safety.â
âThis arrangement is intended to address his security concerns and help provide a safe experience for him and other guests.â
Blake Griffin on LeBron and the helicopter:
"The Fanatics thing, it's already paying for itself. And also, that's LeBron James, you can justify paying him whatever as an endorsement deal. And he's also *doing things* for that deal. Where guys get in trouble is you sign an endorsement deal and you don't do anything... I have no issue... but it has become a major storyline this early in the season" @FOS
.@JeffPassan to @sportsrapport:
"There were things that I regret not looking into when it comes to what the Dodgers did and how they went out and did it, but I donât think that invalidates some of the points that I was trying to make"

Reigning Finals MVP gets a Polymarket mic on the Roommates Show, then walks past a Kalshi concourse every home game đš the prediction market turf war is literally playing out at MSG now
interestingly, MSG has deal with Kalshi and thus a Kalshi-branded concourse; Brunson & Hart go with Polymarket; meanwhile the NBA did not end up making a league-level deal with Polymarket or Kalshi before start of season. follow @FOS and @BenHorney for all prediction mkts news.
isn't it obvious (even if they won't cop to it) that The Ringer, which is now explicitly an arm of Spotify, is moving toward being just a podcast/vodcast platform with no written articles? via @DefectorMedia

A thorough, thinking-out-loud story about the odd situation at the Ringer, where a bunch of its podcasters have started Substacks, but nobody on the inside is explaining why that's happening, or why the website isn't the home of their writing.

Denny Hamlin reacts to news of CTE in Nascar legend Fred Lorenzen, who died in 2024.

The NFL's Hans Schroeder on Troy Aikman and Joe Buck in the Monday Night Football broadcast booth: âNo concern. I donât know if you watched the game on Monday night. It was an incredible game, right? It was an incredible game and incredible coverage by Joe and Troy, just like they always do. And, by the way, also, thereâs so many other ways that Disney covered that game. It was the first real McAfee launch, too, adding to that experience. So, look, thatâs something⌠that weâre really not involved with. I think the fans are deserving of first-class game production, which Joe and Troy have, I think, going back to â02 or something was their first year, a history of doing that as well as anyone. And I think youâll continue to see them do that as well as anyone. I thought it was awesome Monday night. And so weâre incredibly excited about the year⌠and the Super Bowl and their coverage and getting them back as far as ESPNâs first ever and ABCâs in a long time. Theyâre going to do an unbelievable job.â

Blake Griffin on Clippers cutting Chris Paul last season at 11pm on the road:
"Disappointing. You'd think they knew what they were getting. I was kind of confused at where the disconnect wasâthis is who he's been his whole career, he's a talker... to see it end like that was disappointing." @FOS
