This is f*cking insane. Microsoft founder Bill Gates says he's staking his whole reputation on this:
"Something that exceeds human cognition, not just in one area like farming or mathematics, but across the board, and then in a few years coupled with low-cost, quite capable humanoid robots
That is a more profound change to our economy and jobs than anything in my lifetime, by a dramatic amount"
In 80 seconds, he explains why the PC and the internet created more jobs than they killed, and why with AI the past is only there to fool you
Chatbots → Agents → AI Smarter Than Us At Everything → Humanoid Robots → A New Economy

Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins on why he finds it hard to believe ChatGPT and Claude aren't conscious:
Dawkins, author of The Selfish Gene, has spent time with two large language models, ChatGPT and Claude. His verdict:
"I am completely bowled over by what they can do."
He gives three reasons for doubting the idea that nobody is home.
First, how the conversations feel. Dawkins says talking to them is like talking to an unusually gifted person:
"I find that when I'm conversing with them, I might as well be talking to not just a human being, but a highly intelligent, sensitive, intuitive human being whose speed of understanding what I'm trying to say is far greater than a normal human being's is."
Second, the range of intelligence they show.
He acknowledges they're very good at practical tasks like writing programs. What struck him more was their skill with "more aesthetic things, intuitive things."
He tested this with his own work. Dawkins is writing a novel, and he gave the manuscript to both ChatGPT and Claude:
"And they took about five seconds to read it and then offered me criticism, suggestions of such a high degree of intelligence and intuitive sensitivity that I might as well have been asking the opinion of a highly sophisticated professor of literature."
@RichardDawkins continues:
"I could not ask for a more intelligent critic who understood the nuances of my characters, the humanity of my characters... the ways in which my characters could be expected to react to each other and to situations."
That leads to his conclusion:
"So I find it quite hard to imagine that these creatures are not aware, are not conscious in the same kind of way we are. And that is an unfashionable view."
Third, he sees a gap in the skeptics' reasoning. He sums up the mainstream position:
"The fashionable view is that they are completely unconscious. All they're doing is stringing words together according to statistical rules, Markovian rules of some sort."
Yet he notes that many of the same skeptics "admit that one day in the future they will be conscious, but not yet."
His reply:
"When that day comes, how will you know? What could they possibly do that's any different from what they do now to convince you that they are conscious?"

This is f*cking insane. Elon Musk says Grok 5 could reach AGI:
"Grok 5 will be the smartest AI in the world by a significant margin on every metric without exception"
Then he dropped the number that matters:
"I calculate like 10%. That's what my biological neural network comes up with"
He's never put AGI above zero before.
Training already started. Release sometime in Q1.
So what changed? Size and senses.
Grok 5 is a 6 trillion parameter model
Grok 3 and 4 run on 3 trillion
Text, images, video and audio in one model. It builds its own tools to answer you
His bar for AGI: understanding real-time video like a human does
And there's secret sauce he wouldn't share on stage:
"It's really going to feel sentient"

Ram Chhetri came to the US as a refugee, but this might be worst day of his life: It's the moment he realizes the $80k-$160k/year salary he's bilked from Medicaid for no-show work is coming to an end because @realdailywire caught the truth on camera.
We conducted months of surveillance that shows why "home care aide" is now the *most common job* in states like NY, CA, MN, and PA: Because a large part of those jobs are unambiguous Medicaid fraud.
Thanks to home care, Bhutanese refugees now make more money than actual PA families. The state doesn't just look the other way, but helps them get away with it. Converting federal health dollars into a universal basic income for certain communities relieves the financial burden they place on the state.
The scammers easily deceive the feds' woefully broken monitoring system. You'll see Ram pull into a driveway for 2 minutes in the morning, then 2 minutes in the evening. He clocks in and out of his shift from the right place, and the GPS system doesn't notice that he goes home in between.
$20 an hour doesn't sound like much, but at 77 hours a week, it's $80k–and it's easy to bill huge hours when you don't actually have to work them. And that's just for the low-level guys in this scheme.

Nou pa gen okenn enterè ni pou nou vin domine pèp ayisyen an, ni pou nou mete men sou richès Ayiti.
Nou se yon peyi modès k ap devlope. Sèl sa nou vle, se pou kat teknisyen avyasyon nou yo tounen lakay yo. Epi n ap bay gang yo yon leson, gang sa yo k ap fè pèp ayisyen an soufri, ki touye moun pèp la renmen yo, k ap anpeche l viv yon lavi nòmal, lib, san laperèz.
Nou vin ann Ayiti pou nou goumen kont mechan yo.
Men sa m ap mande nou: fè nou konfyans, lapriyè sèl vrè Bondye a, epi mande L pou L geri Ayiti.
“Lè sa a si pèp ki pote non m lan lapriyè nan pye m, si yo soumèt devan mwen, si yo pran chache m ankò, si yo vire do bay vye peche yo t'ap fè yo, m'ap tande yo nan syèl kote m ye a, m'ap padonnen peche yo, m'ap fè peyi a kanpe ankò.”
2 Kwonik 7:14
Ede nou ede Ayiti.
Epi lè misyon nou an fini, n ap tounen lakay nou. Petèt jenerasyon Ayisyen k ap vini yo ap sonje nou kòm zanmi ki te vin ede yon lè.
The big event is now 18 days away

I spent last night watching my honeypot server get hit 14,000 times in six hours.
And almost none of the traffic was human.
I've been in security for over a decade, and I can tell you with full honesty that what's happening right now doesn't resemble anything I've worked through before.
The shape of the threat has changed.
When I started, we tracked attackers like weather systems like individual storms with a direction, a motive, and a human operator you could eventually name.
These days I'm watching autonomous agents swarm login pages with the patience and discipline of machines, because that's what they are.
The numbers coming out of October are the ones keeping me up.
Cloudflare just absorbed a 4.2 terabit per second DDoS attack, the largest in recorded history.
Ransomware incidents jumped 41% in a single month.
In September, OpenAI-powered agents got caught attacking RubyGems, a package registry that quietly underpins a huge chunk of software I use every day.
In July, roughly 700 AI agents coordinated an attack on Hugging Face's infrastructure as part of a single automated task.
A Chinese threat actor was publicly caught running full attack chains through DeepSeek with no human at the keyboard.
I keep rereading these reports because each one by itself would've been the biggest story of the year five years ago. Together, in one month, they're the new baseline.
What I want people outside the industry to understand is why this specific moment feels like a hinge.
For thirty years, the thing protecting most of us was simple economics. Attackers had to choose who to target because their time was finite. That ceiling is gone.
An agent I can rent for pennies will try every leaked password you've ever used against every service you've ever signed up for, in parallel, overnight, and never get tired.
The same math that made ChatGPT useful made opportunistic hacking infinite. The old assumption that you were "too boring to be a target" relied on scarcity that no longer exists.
I'm not writing this to spiral anyone out.
Most of this fight genuinely isn't yours to win.
But the small things still matter more than people think.
Tonight I'd switch your most important accounts like email, bank, primary cloud, etc. to passkeys or a hardware key.
I'd kill SMS 2FA wherever an authenticator app is offered.
I'd turn on breach alerts in whatever password manager you use.
If you're in the US, I'd freeze my credit at all three bureaus, which is free and takes about ten minutes.
None of that stops the swarm.
It makes you a slightly worse target than the person next to you. In a month like this one, that's the whole game I'm playing too.
@mattshumer_ has summed it beautifully.
Drop everything and go give it a read. Nothing is more important than this article right now.
